Well, we don't all have to become millionaires but i can see how promotions and interactions on other platforms can help. how do you explain posts that make 30$ from simply posting a meme though.

Counter question: "Why do millions of people like a selfie of Miley Cyrus drinking a milk shake?" Well because she's Miley Cyrus...:-) That's also the answer to your question, even though Miley is still not blogging on steemit (as far as I know).
Well, I get that, the questions is, should we encourage this? its probably one of the main things that will prevent new users with actual content from getting a start( and I don't mean myself, i'm fine ;)) but take this guy for example. https://steemit.com/art/@mearone/a-mother-s-day-offering-to-gaia-new-mural-and-art-video-kauai-hi. (and sorry i don't mean to promote on your blog)
Well, we've all started like this. Most of my first blog posts (10 months ago) didn't even make $1. The content itself is not everything. You need to build a strong followership which needs a lot of time. People start following you when they notice that you deliver, when they know that you're going to meet their expectations (or even exceed them) with your next post... The example you mentioned is the perfect proof of that fact :-)
