Links, Tips, Tricks and Resources for signing-up older people to Steem...
Below are a collection of resources, tips and tricks to help sign-up a baby-boomer to Steem...
I've been banging on to my Dad about Bitcoin for years.
He's 67 (yes, yes, age makes a difference for tech. and crypto).
He still kinda thinks Bitcoin is an elaborate scam/cult.
But hey, he's now signed up to Steem! And he's working on his 1st post.
Here's how that happened...
Background
He's a writer.
He's written a couple of books about baking (that's not a typo. baking, as in bread...NOT baNking).
So it makes sense he would be here.
Here's what I learned/did/used:
1). If the person is a baby-boomer, make sure they watch the below:
Watch it with them! They won't want to read anything.
It's only 3 minutes, but that's actually a long-time.
They will not sit through it, unless you watch it with them.
Keep them entertained but not distracted, while it's playing.
2). The $ amounts (as expressed in the UI) are pure genius.
Bigger numbers are best. Avoid anything technical. Sell the sizzle, not the steak! :-)
Point people to those large numbers early and explain.
3). All the beautiful gals here introducing themselves...
They are cute, but make the place look kinda 'scammy'. Avoid showing people those. It reminds them of those popup ads on ripoff sites. Unless they are complete horn-ball (Yes, that's a word)...avoid these.
4). Take them through the cashing out process (earlier the better)
Through Bittrex as a mechanical process. Use this resource:
Don't try and explain the why's. It's too involved. Do the cash out early.
Step 5). Go and buy something on Amazon with Purse.io
Do that immediately after cashing out. Everyone knows Amazon.
It needs to be Amazon. It will make it real and tangible. Trust me, this part is the major hook!
Step 6). Keep them entertained but not distracted thorugh the whole process.
Hope that helps. If you need more information/advice, hit me up below...
