The Importance of Bankroll Management In Sports Betting Volume II (Straight Line System)

in #money8 years ago

Although sports gambling can be quite enjoyable, and it serves as a great form of entertainment for many people, the main objective should always be to yield a positive return.

How do we do that?
In my last article I briefly talked about the importance of following a money management system. The simplest money management system is what I like to call the straight-line-system.

How does it work?
For the sake of the article, let's assume that you have a gambling bankroll of $1,000. In this scenario you should wager 2 percent of your entire bankroll on each individual play. For all of your underdog plays that are + money, you should risk $20. However, if you are betting on favorites, or the standard 10% juice, (-110) then you should risk $22 to win $20.

Examples:
Chicago Bulls +5 (-110)
Risk $22 to win $20

Chicago Bulls MoneyLine +200
Risk $20 to win $40

Make sense? Notice in the second scenario you are wagering that the Bulls win the game outright, this is what is known as a "+ money wager" so you should always "Risk" 2%. Whereas with "- money plays" you should always make your selections "To Win" 2%.

Things to consider:
This is a rather conservative method to bankroll management. Although it may not be as exciting as you have played in the past, it is very successful if you are looking for long term success. Many people who use this method, elect to withdraw their winnings on a annual, or semi annual basis.

Again, for those of you who do not yet know me, I am a professional gambler, has been in this business for over fifteen years now. As always, feel free to leave me comments, and give me a follow, as I post free picks and advice every day.
