I think the value of Bitcoin lies in its open ledger - all sorts of practical uses for this transparency in the real world.

People should however be concerned about anonymity. That is where TOR, VPNs (or even Tails for the super-paranoid) is useful for browsing the internet, Monero for transactions, PGP encryption for messaging etc.

Never under-estimate the value of disinformation either - on Facebook, for examle, you can dupe their profiling agenda by changing key info (things like name, location, education, gender, age). Never give away your valuable personal info if it can be helped!
