Getting your first bitcoin
The fastest way to get your first crypto currency is just buying it. And the very first crypto you probably should buy is bitcoin. But let me give you a littlet bit of advise.
First you should check several places which offer purchasing crypto from fiat money as US Dollars or Euro. Sites like Coinbase, Blockchain.info, Freewallet or Xapo are just a few of them. Most of them offer you the option of purchasing from your credit card of from a wire transfer wich generally requires previous autentification. The first thing you have to check is the fees and exchange rate. All this sites live out of this transactions as most of them do not charge for bitcoin transfer between accounts. Checking fees and comparing is a MUST exercise. There are BIG differences and you may end up paying more than a 10% on a purchase.
Second, make sure you are able to get your bitcoin out of the purchasing site easily and whenever you want. Some sites have withdrawal daily restrictions unless you autenticate. Last thing you want is having to leave your money on a place you just want to use for exchange.
Other ways to get crypto are faucets or just offering your services with a nice discount to your clients if they pay you in crypto. Faicets are a very very slow and risky way to earn. They are free but you pay with your time, most of the adds they have are services offering ponzi schemes and they usually have a bunch of autoinstall trash. But they are a free nice way to get to understand how transfers work and how your money goes into your wallet before spending a single dollar, but if you are a freelance, a nice way to get your first crypto is through your own services.
With your first bitcoin, you can use exchanges to purchase other crypto currencies and send them to the corresponding wallet so you get them out of the exchange as soon as you get your exchange transaction done.
