Universal basic income would solve a lot of problems for chronically unemployed people, especially those who lost their homes during the market crash that only the wealthy people have recovered from. I also agree that it would boost the economy. The economy is based in large part on consumer spending, and when people have nothing left to spend after paying for necessities, the economy can't grow.
