McDonald’s To Replace Cashiers With Kiosks, Wall Street Rejoices

On Tuesday, McDonald’s plans to replace cashiers in 2,500 of its restaurants with automated (digital) ordering kiosks were brough to light. Wall Street viewed the move as extremely favorable for the chain and shares of the company hit an all-time high in the process. McDonald’s will be rolling out mobile ordering to its 14,000 US locations before the end of 2017. They call the technology upgrades as part of their “Experience of the Future,” of which includes the digital kiosks and will include table delivery.

I mean come on, this was bound to happen, this has already happened in many european countries, theres usually only 2 people working behind the register while there are 8-12 machines where you can punch in your order.

you bring the ticket over to the people standing behind the desk and they tell you to step aside until your order has arrived

did people NOT see this happening when minimum wage was pushed up to $15 an hour!?

Lol...I'll never go to a restaurant that has taken away the human interaction. Not going to happen.

In Italy, the majority of Mc are in this way by more than a year.....
