It's not just Change,Chump. If your low on money reconsider the value of your money.

Your pocket change is worth looking through. If your short of money, it may be worth it to avoid bills all together when cashing your paycheck. Better yet keep cash out of the picture entirely.

Consider what you can still encounter from US banks

1942-1945 Jefferson Nickle - 35% silver
1946-1964 Roosevelt dimes- 90% silver
1916-1945 Mercury dimes - 90% silver
Washington quarter 1932, 1934-64 90% silver
Standing liberty 1916-1930 -90% silver
Kennedy half dollar- 1964 90% silver
Kennedy half dollar 1965- 1970 40% silver

In the UK a large number of coins below 1945 range between 50 and 92.5% silver.

Silver is below $20 now with Q.E. raining money on stocks. Companies take cheap debt and participate in large share buy backs which further pumps. Low interest rates leave no safe alternatives for most other than stocks While it's premature to call a collapse it certainly has all the ingredients of a bubble. Silver has shown to do wonderfully in a collapse $50.50~ It's not unfair to assume it would do well in a busted bubble as well.

Markets like Ebay can offer buyers smaller premiums on the spot price and offer sellers smaller expenses than the bullion spreads come to be.

So if money is tight try your luck with loose change. Your bank teller may hate you but the next time you take your compensation, choose the one that offers better compensation. $1500 in dimes, quarters and half dollars please. Give your children something to do and when they find some nice silver for you, treat them to a nice piece of copper-nickel. Like so many, they fail to see the difference. A single coin can be a Lincoln/ Jackson paper difference.
