Is it just me, or is the John Mcafee weekly coin reveal absurd?

in #money7 years ago (edited)

John Mcafee seems to be keen on giving investment advice these days. I wouldn't recommend following a possible criminal who lacks a sense of moral responsibility or social conscience and his personal gain is the primary agenda.

For those of you who don't know much about John, he is a highly intelligent individual whom worked on projects for NASA, Xerox and Lockheed Martin before founding Mcafee Security in 1987. Mcafee Security was a success and John stepped down and cashed out in 1994, 2 years after the company went public. John dabbled in a handful of projects over the next two decades, one project, making antibiotics from natural plants landed him in Berlize in 2009. By 2012, he was arrested in Guatemala after fleeing Belize and entering the country illegally. Belize police were investigating John on gang relations, multiple murders, weapon possession and drugs when he fled. He then faked a heart condition to get him released from custody and escaped back to the U.S., where he's been ever since. Here's a link if you'd like to read in depth on the Belize shinanigans.

John is currently CEO of MGT Capital which surprise, surprise is heavily involved in mining Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. I'm sure you all remember John betting Bitcoin will reach 1 million dollars by 2020 or he'd eat his dick, kinda hard to forget that one. And once he had people's attention he then pushed an upcoming token issued by MGT. Afterall, such a bet makes a good headline, but I hope he keeps an appetite because Bitcoin would have to be worth roughly 15 trillion dollars to reach this price, topping the value of the worlds gold and total of all USD's combined.

The bottom line is John can't be trusted. This weekly coin opinion thing is likely just another way to use his celebrity to try and pump coins he likely has ownership of and just contributes to what's wrong with the crypto market.

Useful post and informative thanks

I thought he's not doing the "coin of the day" anymore, but "coin of the week"
eitherway, he can't be trusted
