"These are neither groundbreaking achievements nor measurable impacts on the visibility of my blog."
this is a big thing - learning how to make promotional efforts measurable. otherwise I think it's easy to run in circles working hard on things that might not be super effective. Do you have any ways of measuring, or is it not an important part of your strategy?
The great thing, all internet anxieties aside, is that it IS POSSIBLE. and it doesn't have to be something that happens when you're super young, like people think. My soundcloud page was stuck at 200 followers for years, then I started putting out way more material and promoting better and hit 2,500+ within six months, and 1,900+ on another band account.
It's a long journey tho.
Tell me about it! Yeah, it's always a long journey of hard work and being at the right place at the right time :-)
Would you mind to share your soundcloud account?
It's hard to measure things that don't generate a direct response. If I receive a like, comment, follow or even share (e.g. on Twitter) then it's something I can instantly appreciate. Shares generate even more likes and followers, etc. However there is a huge grey zone, since I have no idea how many of them come over to steemit and effectively read my stuff or even start following me here.
During the past weeks the number of people who are following my steemit blog has significantly increased. However, this is supposedly due to the general wave of new subscribers.
Measurement is not my main focus. In the end what counts is that the blog keeps growing, and currently it does...:)
ya! here's my fav song to start with: https://soundcloud.com/heymattsokol/matt-sokol-prosperity-frog-1
It's cool to hear that you don't have to measure too close to keep growing your steemit blog / online audience in general. That frees up more time for making art, surfing, or whatever else.
Oh wow!!! That's brilliant @heymattsokol!
We should "cooperate" one day, me promoting one of your songs in a surfing video :-))
Dude, I would love that! How can we make it happen? Should we connect through email?
Have you signed up to steemit.chat? You can meet me there :-)
Oh you are absolutely right! Actually this blog is consuming A LOT of (surfing) time already, haha! It can't become more.
Thanks for the link I will listen to it RIGHT NOW :-)
