Well, as of this morning, Jan 28, 2021, nearly every U.S. based trading platform has restricted trading of AMC, GME, Nokia and several other stocks to sell only.
I'll admit...I was a dumbass. I woke up, saw that and immediately thought "fuck, I'd better get rid of it. It can only go down now. " so..I sold my 7 shares of AMC for a loss...i held on to Nokia cause I bought them several months ago, thinking their role in the U.S. 5G infrastructure rollout would bring their value up.
It didn't dawn on me until after the sale was done: if regular, retail investors can't buy AMC stock... then who just bought mine?!? I'd be willing to bet it was Melvin Capital, one of the largest holders of short-intrest of GME.
This is blatant market manipulation by large Wall Street hedge funds who stand to lose their ass because everyday investors like you and me figured out how to beat them at their own game. The 140% short position that existed on GME was simply a bad move on the hedge funds part. They should have to face the consequences of their bad decisions, not screw Joe Mainstreet because he figured out how to play their game.
Anyone on HIVE who is invested in the following companies should file a complaint with the SEC regarding the blatant market manipulation going on today by major using platforms such as Robinhood, TDAmeritrade, Charlrs Schwab and others.
SEC Complaint form https://www.sec.gov/oiea/Complaint.html
File this form if you have been restricted in trading any of these stocks:
AAL, $AMC, $BB, $BBBY, $CTRM, $EXPR, $GME, $KOSS, $NAKD, $NOK, $SNDL, $TR and $TRVG
In some cases, such as AMC and GME, the Robinhood app lists them as unsupported... despite the fact that they were supported less than 12 hrs earlier. AMC was a supported stock until AFTER i sold it.
If enough people speak up, wall street and the Feds will have to take notice. The only difference between what has happened publicly on reddit regarding these stocks and the big boys on Wall Street is that, WS does it with 10 guys who have access to millions... reddit was millions of people who all have access to a small amount of money. That's it!
