How to become a millionaire

So I cracked out the old excel spreadsheet and did some analysis this weekend. It turns out getting to that infamous seven figure net worth is not as difficult as they would have you believe. You don't need to wait till 70 to retire. In fact based on what I've discovered if you started taking this goal seriously you could retire in 10 years with a million dollar net worth. That means if you sold all your assets and paid off all your debt you would have one million dollars in the bank.

After all, even those of us who like our jobs, would rather focus more attention on doing the things we love - whether that's spending more time with friends and family, playing an instrument or travelling to exotic locations around the world, which is one of my passions.

Getting there relies on two things:

(1) Developing in demand skills early and pursuing a career in a field with some degree of stability and opportunities for advancement OR finding a niche like cryptocurrencies and becoming an expert at it to earn passive income or asset appreciation

(2) Not being caught by the trappings of success and maintaining a frugal lifestyle until you've made it. What you make isn't anywhere near as important as what you save.

Key things to focus on should be:
Current salary
Expectations of salary growth
Current investment performance
Current and future spending - budgets and forecasts
Your savings rate
Realistic rates of acquisition of additional investments assets
Capital appreciation

Many who followed this path are millionaires today. How do they get there? You might think they were all Wall Street bankers or a Ivy League lawyer. But it's not the truth. Most are just regular people with stable jobs who were passionate and disciplined enough to stay focused on their goals.

That is the power of compound annual growth and starting early.
