Note: The purpose of this post is to encourage those who struggle in their lives to become successful. The conclusion of this post is that we should thank God for our current situation, embrace all types of problem and work to solve them. The reasons are mentioned to reduce the depression level of such people. We should face the problems happily and work for the success. Poverty is bad for sure, those who surrender themselves to poverty are losers and those who embrace the reality and work for the success are winners.

Poverty is the root cause of all evils - says the materialists' theory. But is it true? I don't think so. If that would be the case, there would be no wealthy criminals. Poverty can be good or bad, depending on the person. The root cause of all evils is "unnecessary wishes" in my view because they lead people to do crimes.

But that's not our topic. Poverty is considered really bad in the society and people underestimate your skills and qualities just because you are poor. If you are poor, you'll be advised by people to work hard and spend extra time on duty to get some overtime bonus because they believe that money means success and therefore, the solution of all your problems.
Yes, it's a fact that money is the solution for most problems but not "all". Is money the primary goal of your life? What is the advantage if you're dying with a much larger house than your grandpa had? What's the point if you're dying with large bank balance than your father had? Well, I am not denying the importance of money. Undoubtedly, money "if earned honestly and legally" actually means success, but how much? that's the point. For some people, being rich is actually good because they are givers and share their happiness with others and for some people, being poor is much better than rich because of ever-increasing "unnecessary wishes".
If you are poor, you should learn to embrace it. You might be thinking, how can you embrace poverty? In this article, I will share the reasons why you should embrace poverty but at the same time, work for your long-term success too. Don't feel depressed just because you are poor. After darkness comes the light.
# 1 - You have nothing to lose:
Rich people worry a lot about their bank balance, high income-tax rate, and possible robberies because of their money. On the other hand, you are poor and everyone knows that. You have nothing to lose and the only chances are, your financial situation will improve but it won't go worst hopefully. There won't be income-tax issues on you. All the thieves of your area know that you are poor, so you would possibly not be the next target for them.
There is a lot to lose for rich people. Even 1% loss out of 100 million dollars will make them yell and cry. If you are earning like $500 a month, then there is a room for an increase in your salary. So, be happy and work for the future.
# 2 - Fewer issues of health as compared to rich people:
Money often leads to evil such as drugs and smoking that surely affects your health. Rich people like to enjoy the night at bars, drink the wine and change the girlfriend every night. Being poor, you will not have extra money to spend on drugs and therefore, you'll be forced by nature and that will result in fewer health problems.
Smoking and drugs are not everything. Look at another aspect, rich people have more money and therefore, they can eat a lot and fall into health issues. On the other hand, you eat less because of your poverty. Your weight will stay in limit and there won't be a need to do dieting. You will remain healthy without all of these.
# 3 - Easy to choose the food for dinner:
Rich people spend time choosing the food they would like to eat at dinner which results in the waste of time. Since time is money, you can save your time because your list of food is limited and you can choose anything from that small list and spend the rest of your time either at extra work or with your family.
There are many other reasons such as your moral behavior. Being poor, you know how difficult the life can be at times and therefore, you'll take care of poor people. I've noticed through social experiments that rich people are usually proud of their status and they don't feel the pain of a poor. I watched an experiment on Youtube where a guy with crutch drops his key (social experiment) and request the rich people to pick and hand him that key. 80% of them refused to do so. But it shows that there are some people who are rich but at the same time, they are great enough and understands the pain of poor people. Thumbs up for such people!
This is a no-brainer. You won’t have a single worry about losing money or possessions, if you have no money or possessions. If you’re flat broke and you find a penny someone dropped, woo-hoo, it’s your lucky day! But if you’re a millionaire banker, you probably won’t even stoop to pick up a mere penny. Just think of all the lucky days you’ll have, when that banker might go years before he has even one day he considers lucky lol.
Hi and thanks for the lovely post, but even with the detailed explanation on this I think I will still go for being rich, I mean come on I know they say more money more problems but we can't do without problems in this life, I wanna drive in a Ferrari have big cars and travel the world and only by being rich this can be possible.

I've read some negative comments below but seems like most of the people are not getting the point he mentioned above. Being poor is not good,but if you are poor (by luck) then there is no need to feel depressed but embrace the poverty but all of this should be done while working for the long-term success (i.e to make enough money in future to enjoy all the necessities of life).
Money isn't always everything. In my country the philippines people live happily even though we have nothing in life. as long as we are together with our love ones we feel like we are the richest person on earth. Thats why we prioritize our love one's more than anything.
Well you need poor to have rich. Someone assamble this phone you are reading on it for fer bucks daily. And to be rich is not hard, beacuse a lot of us are rich. I read a long ago "if you have 900 eur monthly income you are among 10% richest people on the planet". So we are rich but poor. Poor in our soul. No hapines at all. Just work, debts and politics

Personally I'd rather be a rich idiot like Donald Trump who eats burgers everyday but has financial security for him & his family than to be poor hoping me or my family don't fall ill or worry about school fees
Fascinating. But that's the beauty of life, isn't it? Everyone seems to have different values and goals for their life. You can be super-poor but still love the majority of things about your life. I should know - the cap nearly fits, so to speak. ;) Alternatively, you can be an abomination like Trump in your example, surrounded by fake arse-lickers (some of whom may actually be your family :( :( :( ), seeing value in all the most pathetic things in life. Do you need diamond rings on your fingers, for example? Some would say 'absolutely'. But you must know - as any sane person will - you could have a perfectly fantastic life without even knowing what a diamond is.
We all get ill. We all die. And healthcare generally helps (but is hardly perfect - there are unscrupulous people in the industry who will rip you off, rich or poor; there are diseases that money can't buy a cure for).
When I think of my life (my childhood spent raised in developed world 'poverty'), I wouldn't trade a day of it for Trump's 70+ years of being an absolute gobshite, a stain on humanity. Would you, a day of your life? Do you crave fake-love and fake-friendships that much with the rest of the world rightfully and understandably hating you?
I can honestly say, I'd rather have lived to the age of five and died than spent a Trump lifetime in Trump's flashy footwear. I loved my first five years of life (whilst incredibly poor, with some unpleasant experiences that steemed from that, I was incredibly lucky in many other ways, though). I don't know Trump's life story (obviously) and certainly nowhere near as much as I know mine. But I'm pretty sure he's been a spoilt brat twat the whole of his life, a life that's been full of servants and sycophants. Big fucking deal. A life that is hardly character building.
You've got to realise D J Trump is NOT a good human being by pretty much any legitimate method you could attempt to evaluate a person.

For reasons of clarity, I believe he's not at all smart. Though he may hold the office of President of the United States, I've since lost a whole lot of respect for that - or at least the system by which the chosen are elected - and feel it was the shambolic aspects of the system that saw him win.

My mind is blown by the inaccuracies in this post. Drugs and alcohol abuse are far bigger issues with those in poverty. And the comment about food is laughable. What's cheaper? McDonald's or Whole Foods? I mean, seriously, I get that it's important to encourage people to work hard, but this sounds like the advice of a person who has never met a truly poor person. I work on a school with a very high poverty rate. These kids and their families are poor, really poor. They work hard, really hard. They are not lucky, or healthy. How fortunate to be in a bubble and not really understand poverty.

@coconut amazing post! Truly touching and many people can relate to this! I did grew in a poorer enviroment and when and at first i was ashamed because i was surrounded by kids with far batter clothes than mine, having a lot of money for lunch and etc. After years passed and i was already on another level which i achieved with hard work and education i am still looking back and i am gratefull that i had those hard times because they made me the person i am today. Those times gave me the ambition to move forward and continue the hard work. I was focused while the others were distractet by the wealth! Stay real and thank you for reminding me of that and for sharing your experience! Amazing post!
It would be ignorant to think that there would be fewer health issues if you are poor. There are homeless drug addicts who resort to crimes to satisfy their needs, there are people who die out of hunger, there are poeple who die because they don't have enough money to treat themselves when they are sick. Embrace poverty just to get the feel of how life is when one is poor but try to get out if it as soon as possible. Have an abundant mindset. Also, isn't it good if you have a choice of what you want to eat rather than eating the same thing every frickin day?

well in my opinion the only ones who can embrace poverty are the poor themselves when they have tried to get out of it but couldnt. is it possible for the rich to simply say i am no longer interested in money and just distribute all that they have and embrace poverty? remember the rich young man who came to christ. the minute he heard about selling of his properties and follow christ, he simply shook his head and left. so i shook my head like him and say no to your story. poverty is a disease my friend, so thanks but no thanks.

I have experienced poverty. There is hardly anything good about it.
And there is hardly anything for rich people if they lack humanity.
Not all the time working hard make you rich. Look at those worker they really work hard, do they become rich afterward? No. Look at those rich people are they working hard? No. Rather they just use there money.working for them and enjoy it.

Everything always depends on the way of being of each person .. there are people who enjoy what little or much life gives them .. that at the end they do not care if it is much or little they just enjoy it they live it they share it and they are happy ... But there are people who are dissatisfied with what they are and what they have, whether they are rich or poor .. everything depends on self-esteem, family education, the environment that surrounds them..Depends a lot on the experiences and obstacles that they have had to overcome .. and on how they were fed and internalized those experiences .. Many people in the world die of hunger, or by some disease, as well as drugs, depression, or simply they feel dead in life that is really even worse ..
You know what matters, is simply that people understand that they should try to be happy every day, and thank God for how much or little they have because only God will fill the gaps that Everyone has rich or poor .. There is a purpose for everything .. and although it costs a lot to accept it to the end only God decides how we started this way of life and how and when we finished it .. There's a lot of things I don't agree with in this post, and plenty of the things you said simply don't hold in real life. But hey, maybe it is like that in your society. In my experience, both the rich and the poor might be involved with crime. I think it has a lot to do with what a person is like. Some people will be criminals regardless of their income size. Some people will be angels regardless of their income size. Poverty, however, remains a risk factor which increases the issues with violence, health problems (e.g. nutrient deficiency) and many other problems. We should never forget that, and we should always strive towards the elimination of poverty. But I think that you tried to make a valid point here, and that is that the first step to any change is embracing where you currently are, wherever that might be, including poverty. And that is something I can totally agree with. Your topic already sparked some debate, and that's always a good thing.

I think you are the bit more skeptical about money, right? I don't mean, you are wrong. But, Money is a useful tool for humanity. Can you imagine, if there is no money how hard it is to trade and exchange? Now, just because of few people who are using their money as power or power to make money for themselves, we can not tell money as bad or good thing. It is just a tool. We need to raise our awareness to grow ourself inside out.
