If only these companies had a contact number!

Isn't it a little strange seeing the price of Steem going down coincidentally around the same time Polo's blocking off access to SBD and STEEM for a few days now? HF19 came out earlier in the week and that caused quite the scene, but that was expected. Polo disabled trading which happens every now and then, but keeping it on for a few days? What the heck? Add into that how people have been sending trades (anywhere from a few bucks, such as myself where I sent around $4-4.50 worth of Steem, to hundreds of dollars worth) and never receiving. Essentially a lot of trades are floating around in cyber space..

It's a little worrying seeing hundreds of dollars worth just sitting there, unable to deposit more in or withdraw to at least get some SP going. I mean I guess you could trade it (as in sell for BTC) but when the prices are manipulated, it'd be the silliest move.

I'm not all that worried, considering I believe in Steem long term, but it's a little bit frustrating seeing Polo turning shittier each month. I chose it because I view it as the less of the other evils (Kraken sucks ass), but I know no BTC company can be trusted.

I mean, look at this:

Millions of dollars worth of coin flowing through within the past 24 hours? Not bad earnings probably coming from that, eh?

And yet, they can't afford better service? No phone number, horrible at pending tickets, disabling other features and constant lag. Thankfully I haven't lost thousands of dollars unlike other people, but I'm still worried.

Ah, here's another fan favorite! Apart from their servers falling down nearly every day, now they [Coinbase] can add in how their support system sucks.

Look at those raving fans!

My buys have been disabled for over a week. I've sent 3 emails, ranted on Twitter and got this response:

And still I'm without help. And I didn't even get a chance to go through 5 figures worth of coins, because spending a few grand to them within a few weeks is nothing. These companies treat even the millionaire whales like shit..

If only they had a number! If I was in San Fran, or near, I'd go in person to Coinbase for help. I just wish I stopped receiving automated responses or lack thereof.

And here's another favorite that we all wish had a contact #:

*** While typing and going to Venmo's website, I'm happy to discover they recently UPDATED! Woot, finally these cocksuckers will talk to you.

Coinbase, Poloniex, and all the other BTC players should follow the good examples of like 90% of the top companies online.

We need support. We want to support you, but you're shit until you show you actually care. Unnoticed tickets make you feel like crap, especially when your life savings are on the line (like for some people's cases), or even just having a few thousand dollars in hands you can't trust.

I've given up on Polo completely now. Removing the Trollbox after all the bad feedback they were getting was far too suspicious if you ask me.

I quite enjoyed the trollbox, but I think the biggest thing that did it for me was the fact that the average response time seriously was WEEKS. You saw so many people complaining in there constantly, the mods were simply overwhelmed. The site admins couldn't give 2 shits!

If these exchanges don't get their shit together nobody is going to take crypto seriously

I withdawed 1.1 ETH from Poloniex and the txt ID isn't even on the ether blockchain. Nothing happened. Sent out a support ticket, 2 days later, no response from them :S What is wrong with these people?

I'm on the same boat as you , but instead of ETH i have my REP stuck with them!

I feel like there's going to be a LOT of these cases. "lost this" "never got this" "pending ticket" and the number will only continue to sadly grow :/

Poloniex is the next Mt. Gox. This manipulation of prices is getting more and more suspicious. It's a matter of time they will vanish with all the BTC. I recommend other exchanges and be careful on Poloniex.

What other exchanges to you recommend?

Bittrex.

Yeah honestly I'll be moving my funds most likely within the next few weeks. I don't feel safe anymore lending on there even

Has Poloniex at least provided an explanation as to why they suspended the steem/sbd withdrawals? I guess that's the least they could do and it should have been done before the fact.

I agree. I am facing same problems with genesis mining.

Genesis mining seems a bit sketchy.. it has from the start. A lot of people were promoting it on this website, but the numbers just didn't make sense to me.

Wait coinbase is in san fran?! I had to approve them through my bank because the funds were sent to Europe I think it was.

Their headquarters is, but I'm sure they have a bit of a fucky situation where funds are moved around the world (probably for tax purposes you know)

yeah that's fucking sketch.

poloniex sucks balls!
dont use it..
i recommend bittrex or blocktrades

I truly feel all the big exchanges have their set of problems going unnoticed or just the sheer lack of care for them is showing through..

I would never ever trust any single penny on exchange sites. After that insane incident that happen a few days ago i cant imagine the losses people had to face. And i know some people say that users on GDAX should have $5 million in assets to invest but come on.. I 70% or more people on GDAX dont own that much in assets. Any way some really sketchy stuff going on crypto exchange sites although there are some that i really like such as bittrex and kraken although i dont use them that often.

I've never trusted this exchange sites... I remember back in the days when I used to make some pocked money with the PTCs.... Maan shit...it was a pain when I wanted to transfer funds from Alertpay (Payza) to Paypal....I had to search like 4-5 hours for a good exchange with full positive reviews... Fucking scammers...

yeah I've had problems with those company so I'm glad to have bitcoin ATM in my city worth the extra fee in my opinion

I have 400 steem stuck at poloniex for 5 days now! 5 days ago I tried to withdrawal. Ever since it is saying "awaiting approval". What the heck does that mean? Somebody has to approve it? I can't even cancel it.

Blocktrades is a bit expensive, but it's worth it. Quick, safe and easy. I use them lately. So far so good.

Yeah they still have my money on hold and didn't respond for like 5 weeks 😂😂😂

Never trust in exchanges and avoid making the most of my money on it. We have to take care of our assets.

Looks like I am not alone. My ETH withdraw is "Awaiting Approval" for 7 days now. Filed ticket and sent a couple of follow-ups but got absolutely no response. I am starting to lose my patient with Poloniex.

They don't answer support calls very reliably, sadly. I made a trading course and it features Polo exclusively. Thought I'd get in touch to ask for a possible promotion. Back then the Trollbox was still on. I was told by one of the mods there to get in touch via mail, which I did. But when he wrote that, I knew already, they wouldn't answer. This has been about 1 1/2 months ago.

I believe they have huge scaling issues. One of the reasons I'm not worried about my money. As long as they have enough money, but not enough workers, everything's fine. When they have less money, than they have work to pay, they go belly up.

Thank you @avilsd for this helpful post!
