Hello, there! I trust you all are doing great. So here I come with a third episode of our monthly recap of activities at mogul, the premiere decentralized film financing platform, as at last month, May, 2021. So in case you missed out, here’s for you to catch up on all the exciting activities as I take you through them one after another. And if you’re new to the platform, you can catch up with the progress so far as I had carefully highlighted in previous episodes all major activities since Mogul officially launched its platform in March, 2021. Here are the recaps for March and April.

So without further ado, let’s quickly kick off on the highlights for the past month, May, 2021.

Changes In Mogul Leadership And Team Expansion

May was indeed a month with one of the greatest buzz on the mogul platform. It all started with an expansion within the mogul team ahead of the huge events that were scheduled for the month.

Mogul, in the first week of May, came up with a corporate announcement that its founder, Lisa Sun, would be taking over as the interim CEO of the platform. This was followed by the appointment of two new senior advisors in the persons of Gorav Seth and Paul Sparkes to the advisory board. Both new advisors have rich experiences in film, business, politics, and media which they are bringing in to help stir the great mogul ship in the right course.

Mogul NFT Contest

As a token of appreciation to its early supporters, Mogul productions came up with the largest NFT contest ever on blockchain. It is a kind of quest contest in which nft collectors with the highest amount of Mogul nfts win fantastic rewards. These nfts are designed by Rob Prior, the famous Marvel & DC comic artist, and are to be issued to all Mogul Pass Holders who took part in the Mogul fund raising event. Anyone who collects 50% of the total amount of nft will be entitled to a role in mogul produced movie; and anyone who successfully collects 95% of the nfts wins 25 million $stars tokens (roughly about 1.25million dollars) in addition to a movie role. The contest was officially launched during the proof-of-origin event last month end. So in case you’re game for the game, just be on the lookout for mogul nfts and your go-to spot of course should be the mogul nft market place. Here are details of the contest guidelines and requirements. Good luck.

First Phase Mogul Growth Farming Completed And Second Phase Begun

The first phase of Mogul growth farming came to an end in the first week of May, 2021 as the Ethereum block number exceeded the allocated 12392400, ushering mogul into its second growth faming phase. During this second phase, 14 million $STARS will be issued to farmers over a one month period. 14 million is quite a huge amount, and you wouldn’t want to miss out on this opportunity to earn those free tokens. Here’s a guide to get you started in mogul farming.

Partnerships

As part of its efforts to ensure continuous growth and development of its ecosystem, Mogul productions successfully landed two fresh partnerships in the past month. The first partnership was with NFT Labs who would be bringing their nft community management tools to help with mogul NFTs that would be issued soon.

The second partnership initiation was with Rogers & Cowan/PMK (R&CPMK for short). R&CPMK is a leading marketing agency and public relations in the entertainment industry. They would be handling mogul’s communications and entertainment publicity. Details of the partnership can be found on the mogul medium post here.

Mogul’s First Blockchain Voted Movie Announced For June

Mogul announced on March 14th it has sheduled its first ever blockchain movie to be voted by the end of June. This event would give mogul $STAR holders exclusive privilege to vote for the films they want produced and the winning movie will get financing from mogul. In preparation for this, there was a call to movie producers and writers for submission of scripts and the deadline was set to May, 31st. While we eagerly wait the voting event, you can login/signup to mogul platform to see a list of available movies that would be up for voting this month end.

Rob Prior At Mogul

We had exciting moments at mogul last month as we were privileged to have the famed Marvel & DC comic artist, Rob Prior, with us at our telegram community. Big thanks to Rob for creating time out of his busy schedule to hangout with us and answer our many questions. Interestingly, Rob is also one of the advisors at Mogul, and these interactions all led up to the Proof-of-Origin event in the last week of the month.

Prior to the event, the community was opportuned to witness Rob livestream himself as he painted mogul themed nfts which they earlier voted for. Here’s the video of one of those livestreams before the big event day.

The listing came incidentally on the Proof-of-Origin event day and opened the door to even more people to acquire $STARS tokens to participate in the NFT auction which concluded the event and was held on the mogul platform.

Proof Of Origin Event

The entire activities at mogul last month ultimately climaxed in the Proof-Of-Origin event which took place on the 27th of May, 2021. This was basically an NFT livestream event that featured Marvel & DC comic artist, Rob Prior, livestreaming as he painted and then burnt his original paintings to create nfts.

The event also featured panel discussions on the subjects: “The future of NFTs in gaming”; “Nfts in entertainment”; and “NFTs: the next wave of innovation — answering what’s next for the industry”.

Mogul’s Proof-Of-Origin event was Mced by actor and television personality, James Pratt, and had numerous speakers from blockchain and movie industries, such Arfun Kalsy from Polygon; Erman Tjiputra from AIOZ network; Jarred Winn, a former binance exec and CEO of Winn solutions; Emmy-nominated movie producer, David Commican; president of Cindy Cowan entertainment and Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning producer, Cindy Cowan; co-founder/COO of nftlab, Ty Blackard; Andy Lian of Hyundai DAC; award winning actor and director, James Pratt; Joyce Chow, founder of iHollywood film fest; Phil Ingram from Leprico.io; New York Times best selling author and co-host of ‘Bad crypto Podcast’, Joel Comm; and many others.

The Proof-Of-Origin event concluded with the burn and auction of Rob Prior’s Painting titled the ‘Reign of money’ on mogul platform. The painting was inspired by the ‘Wolf of Wallstreet' movie, which is said to be a true life story. The ‘Reign of money’ nft auction ran for 24 hours, and eventually sold out for the final bid price of 5,500,000 STARS, estimated at about $182,050 at the time.

50% of STARS from the auction were burnt for ever as can be seen on the transaction here, while the remaining 50% went to the nft creator, Rob Prior. You need to see his reactions during the auction. Hehe!

You can watch the entire Proof-Of-Origin event on Mogul Youtube channel here. Here’s also a blog summary of the event as put together by mogul itself.

And that was a wrap for the previous month. An eventful month indeed, you’d agree. It couldn’t have been more exciting.

Who knows what this month, June, would bring to Mogul? Stay tuned for our next episode on this series and we won’t fail dishing out the entire gist you by the end.
