Will mobile phones replace computers?

During the last 25 years, we have witnessed the accelerated development of technology. A dizzying progress that has changed the way we communicate, work, interrelate and, ultimately, live.

The miniaturization of the components has allowed creating electronic devices unimaginable long ago. Nowadays everything is much more comfortable, simple and fast.

The (r) evolution of mobile telephony

To appreciate the great progress made in the technological world, it is enough to think about how mobile phones have changed since the launch of the first models in 1983, which weighed almost 1 kilogram and had dimensions of 30 centimeters long and 5 centimeters thick. In less than four decades later, the next-generation mobiles, such as the Samsung Galaxy S8, barely reach 155 grams and one centimeter thick.

Thanks to its lightness and size, the smartphone has become omnipresent in our lives, both in the personal and in the professional field. In addition, with the extension of its functions and features, it has been displacing other devices such as the digital photo camera. And everything points to it will also put aside the laptop as a work tool.

Goodbye to the computer

Precisely in this direction Samsung, a leading R & D company has created the Samsung DEX, a small base on which the mobile is placed and allows you to work like a computer. All you need is a monitor and multitasking becomes easier by connecting a keyboard and a mouse. And, Pam, you already have a PC, but with all the applications of your mobile, in the desktop version, and with direct access to all your files.

The desktop interface of the Samsung Dex Station allows you to send emails, navigate, retouch photographs, work with multiple open windows or copy and paste texts as easily as we would on a PC. All this - and much more - is possible with the Samsung Dex.

The device offers, in addition, the extra advantage of being able to take full advantage of the potential offered by Android applications, since all the applications available in the Google Play store can be executed from its desktop interface. And not only that, but also allows, without disconnecting the phone from the base, receive or make calls and even send text messages through applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram or Hangouts through the monitor.

With Samsung DEX, the company has taken a step towards technological convergence by turning the Galaxy S8, S8 + and Note 8 into real productivity tools. And with them, any place can become a place of work, with the added advantage of being able to use the applications to which we are accustomed in the mobile.iOS 11.JPG

I don't think mobile phones will replace computers. Personally I would not be able to study using a mobile phone. I prefer using my phone for social medias and to look at pictures I have with my phone on the go, but for most other stuff, I prefer using my laptop!
