Romero Secures Another Title Shot Seemingly Miraculously
Yoel knocked out Rockhold in the third round, adding another third-round knockout to his already large collection. Seems like the blueprint to beat Rockhold has been publicized ever since Bisping really exposed his lacking boxing skills. Even in the David Branch fight, Rockhold got lit up a little and it was also due to bad boxing, an exposed chin etc...
When Romero lost to Whittaker I was devastated because it felt like that was it. It felt like this was Yoel's last chance to fight for the title. But a crazy turn of events has him back in line. Of course, he didn't win the Interim title because of missing weight, but with an impressive finish like that, I don't think the UFC will stop him from fighting Whittaker.
I had my money on Rockhold, thought that he was not doing to bad but as you say maybe the word is out on how to beat him and like many fighters when they have a tendency that can be exploited other world class fighters will go for it.
Impressive knockout for Yoel, it will be interesting to see how he deals with Whitakker in a rematch.
Definitely, I mean that first fight was really really close. This fight vs Rockhold could've easily been his first title defense.
I do still feel kinda bad for Rockhold, but it amazes me that so many fighters have holes exposed in their game and they simply do nothing about it. I mean why didn't he improve his boxing, it just blows my mind.
