Diversity is key

Yesterday was MLK day. Its a big day for guys like me that studied political science and sociology. See i come from the south. More distinctly the line of VA,TN, and NC deep in the backwoods of Appalachia, but not the part that got coal money. I come from a line of peoples called the melungeon. They were formed from the Cherokee, runaway slaves, and scottish runaways after the Jacobite Rebellion. They remained cut off from the rest of the world up until the 1940s and 50s. At that point they either just claimed to be Cherokee or they just lied and said they were white. Entire cultures were wiped away thanks to the inability or fear to celebrate certain cultures. America has been and will always be a melting pot of cultures we should embrace this and not fight it. When you look at my family we are tall strong and if it wasnt for living hard lives remain very healthy outside of injuries. If we embrace our differences instead of fighting against them we can be a stronger people as a whole. So love one another and be happy with who you are.
