Mixed feelings in DeepOnion City

Nov 28 - DeepOnion city has been overwhelmed by mixed feelings about the change of the bounty payments. It seems many people can't understand why this change has been passed through without any announcement. The community seems to wonder why this happend so fast.

Disbelief

The news came in like a bolt out the blue. Some members of the community couldn't believe their eyes when they saw the disappointing payment. The payment of the bounty has been dropped since the price of the Onion went up. This discouraged some members of our great community. Many members of the community managed to stay positive. "I made a very long and detailed one hoping to get the standard 25 Onions, too bad it's lowered now. I got the payment, only 10 onions sent. well anyway, better than nothing! haha" although a well-known member of our community.

Right or wrong?

Some people of our community were not so charmed by the changes. The big question was: is it responsible to make these changes without any announcement? Some people thought it had its own right. "It makes sense that the bounty rewards got lowered due to the higher price per onion". While other members said: "We are being paid in Deep Onions. If you will be decreasing the amount of Onions for the reward because it's dollar value rose, then it is only fair that you also increase the rewards in Onions if its dollar value decreases. Think about it. For example I hire you, we agree that I pay you 1 Bitcoin for a job. After you finish the job, the price of Bitcoin doubled in dollar value. Would it be fair if I tell you that I have to pay you just 0.5 Bitcoins? You will argue then that the agreement was in Bitcoins, not in dollar equivalent. Right? Or think about it in reverse. The bitcoin dollar equivalent decreased by half. Would you demand that you get paid double? That's not right, right?".

Statement

Both sides made a good statement. It's up to the moderators to anticipate on this and come up with a solution. I think it's clear that the moderators are doing the best they can for the welfare of our community. Some kind of announcement would be a great way to let the community know about what will happen next, but we don't know the reasons why it didn't happen. Mistakes are there to be made, we only can learn from them.

Life goes on

Some people have told they're planning to stop making work for the community, since the payment went down, which is their own decision. But many members of the community managed to move on. Another day in DeepOnion city.

Over and Out.
