Welcome to Qurator's Mischievous Mondays!
This will be a weekly competition that we will be hosting every Monday. We want to see a little more engagement and fun when it comes to some of our competitions so this will be a simpler and shorter competition. Easy to enter, but maybe not so easy to win. ;) This competition will be similar to the Monday Missions we had a long time ago, but instead of writing posts to enter we will now consider only the comments and answers on this blog as your entry to win.
Why Mischievous?
We all could use a little fun in our lives. We would even say that we deserve it, let loose a little and have a go at making everyone laugh or think a little, even if it is a little over the top or pure silliness. Go all out and let your creative juices flow.
This week's theme : Ode to potato - Poetry
This week we are doing a poetry challenge. All about potatoes! Why? Well because who doesn't love potatoes? Well, even if you do not love them, then write about why you might hate them. Either way, let's go! MAXIMUM OF 10 VERSES.

Oh Potato! Why do you hide from me?
In the fields, beneath the dirt, you dance about the mud
It’s in those depths you grow into a delicious & tasty spud!
To emerge from below you come up to greet the sun
You’re yet to know of all the treats where you’ll be the centre of fun.
Oh Potato! Do not fear the day you’re mashed!
You will be at the centre of the feast
Eaten with some marinated four legged beast

Whose taste is quite fine
With Chianti wine

Rhyming potato with Plato was divine!

Eighto potato what you been upto,
Out the ground hanging around waiting to ate up
Grill you, spash around hot oil, boil you, smash you
Possibly top up mayo, eighto potato....
How we gonna get you down?
Blighty loves em, some not so much,
Famine blight, hunger of nation
Farmers turn soil in hope of great potatoes
Feasties as roasties, crispies, pie toppings,
Mashed ball cheesies, wedgies, breads or fried.
Line them up one by one you got to have at least
Eighto potato to make a plate to share with everyone.

The 'Eighto potato' rhyme throughout made this very much a fun little verse to say out loud!
When young skipping over ropes or elastic band we had many rhymes to sing out, "one potato, two potato, etc..." was one that came to mind, others would not pass the PC test today!
Ahh the innocence, or naivity, of youth.
Gosh, most commonplace language of twenty years ago wouldn't pass any PC test today - the world has shifted, and so many people havn't - it must be hard for some people to look around them and be dazed that they don't fit in any more and they don't know why.
Simply avoid the crowds, safer in the long run most don't understand if they never lived it!
Ode to potato
Potato from different latitudes,
small and large with flavor.
Golden outside.
Juicy inside.
When it falls on my plate
I drop my big fork,
Satisfied taste.
and all is done.

Sliced and fried,
With ketchup that flavored food,
Potatoes delight everyone in modern days.
