When you open a post to read it, you get a snapshot of the votes and rewards the post has at that time. When you actually vote, it gives you a new update. If you actually took time to read the post, that means people were voting while you were reading, but it doesn't update as you go.

In other words, that's normal behavior, especially with the prevalence of timed auto-upvoting.
