Now that everyone is busy posting, who is voting? What you should really do right now...

in #minnowsupportproject7 years ago (edited)

The hardfork .19 has given so many people lots of blessings today, I will start this article by saying what I will say in the end...

Don't get greedy, you'll just go back to square one if you do.

So a lot of people who were chanting the apocalypse song have finally seen the equality they were talking about, but two greater problems arise

  • Who will vote
  • Who will be smart enough to power up 100%

- Who will vote

The miracle witnessed today might not be a daily affair if people don't vote but canvass for votes as everywhere will be littered with articles, but no one to vote them. I strongly recommend you stick to the normal 3-4 maximum posts per day as those who once complained about not whales not giving them votes, thereby depriving them of their chance, might end up doing what they are accusing the whales of doing.
Voting won't hurt you if you share your voting power evenly. Don't become selfish in voting as some people sacrificed for us minnows to get to this point, let us remember to sacrifice too for others.

- Who will be smart enough to power up 100%

For those who got the memo and those who didn't, your steem power is directly proportional to post earnings and voting power. So basically, the more steem power you have, the more you get.
Instead of rushing and making some quick bucks, now is the time to gather enough steem power to change your story for good.
Simply change your post rewards to power up 100% instead of the default 50/50%. Remember the smart ones will save and forever remain happy.

Which will you choose?

Either way is cool but am the kind of individual who thinks long term not about immediate needs. However, needs may vary and what seems right for me, might not seem right for you, but I will strongly advice all minnows especially to power up and enjoy a good future.
The future is usually bright for those who save, equality is here

Don't get greedy, you'll just get back to square one if you do.

Hello @ehiboss

I have been powering up 100% for the last few days and I plan to continue till I hit 5000 Steem Power

@ogochukwu

Very good, but you can occasionally use the 50/50 option too

100 % all the way to 5000 SP

Can you use 100% powerup for rewards earned on comments?

it is default

No sbd is earned?
I didn't know that, thanks

Yours is very nice post and very interesting I love to visit your blog. It includes useful postings. Thanks friend.
I love it.

Thank you for taking your time to read,I appreciate

Im doing it all !

Very good

Thanks for the info. Very informative. I never thought to change my rewards, but I will now.

very good

I am voting allot! Not voting for myself though! So many people are doing that but my strategy is to save the steem and cash out the steem dollars, so I never vote for myself that way anyway.

Good, keep voting

Then resteem for all to get the curation bonuses

very nice post,, this post deserves resteem.

thank you

Great advice, thanks.

really awesome insight, thank you for sharing this :)

You are welcome

Its a tough terrain for minnows out here but with such encouraging post we will definitely save more and grow more.

Cheers :)

Exactly, more steem power gives you an advantage too. This post is 100% powered up

Great advice.. Just a stupid question as im still a bit new, What is the 50/50 and 100%?. I have seen it but have always just left it on the default 50/50.

@woleybabz just answered it...

50/50 makes your reward to be of two components: steem power and steem dollar; while 100 makes it all steem power

Thank you

Thank you for the information..

Thank-you for your very informative post. Unfortunately I should have read your post before I started today but all is good....a lesson learned! I will resteem your post to help you reach other people. Again, thank-you very much for your helpful advise!

i have laid low since, trying to build a network before i start post by next month.

There in lies your problem, you were not patient enough to keep working. followers don't drop out of the sky, your content attracts them

ok..i have been trying to make friends by engaging in their write ups, chats etc...thanks for your advice.

How do I change to 100% steem??

When you post a story, in the right hand bottom, there is a liitle drop down box that allows you to choose between 100%...50-50, and no rewards. All future posts will use the chosen method until you decide to change it again.

THANK YOU!!

However, needs may vary and what seems right for me, might not seem right for you,

What you said makes sense and that's exactly what I would be doing too, if not for the immediate needs. That's the plan for the future.

Very good. You can also collect the split and trade some SBD for steem

Thanks for the post! My voting power gon down below 50% today. Will it recover?

did you regulate it? well it should

Nice post. I do fear that the voting will dry up until we fix the formula again

People are more focused on getting others to vote for them, they forget to vote for others. At the end of the day, with such beautiful changes, it will still be the same outcome as the problem is not steemit, but steemians.

With SBD still trading around $1.66, you're still better off taking the 50/50 split and then trading, not converting, SBD into steem and then powering up. You'll end up with more steempower.

That is also a wise alternative

I always thought that powering up 100% is the smartest idea for new people on Steemit as it's supposed to get you the most STEEM Power.

By dabbling in the 50/50 reward system for a while I am convinced that powering up is definitely the best for me so I will keep doing this for at least a couple more months on all of my new posts. See what happens and then maybe change my tactics :)

Thanks for sharing the great stuff, keep it up :)
@erikdenoorman

I dont really write but rather i vote and resteem. I am sure that i am not the only one either. I dont think we will run out of voters.

How do I change the setting then to power up my post reward to 100% instead of the 50/50. I don't know where to do this ? any help appreciated. Thx

Great post and observation definitely need the community interacting with each other and we can all grow together.

Your posts are really cool, can I please ask you for a huge favour to resteem my last introduceyourself post, I'm trying to get up to 50 followers, will do anything back to help you!!!

done

Thank you man, am following you now and will upvote your future posts!

Hello, I agree with what you say - powering up is very important for the future. The rewards for putting our efforts completely into power are greater in the long run versus the short term benefit of spending now. I am planning on putting as much as I can into power - as much as 80%. The entire amount would be ideal but I need to also improve my daily quality of life. Hopefully as rewards go up I can take less and save more! Also we need to vote more than ever! Even if a vote isn't worth much. If you seek recognition you must also give it. For every post that I submit I seek out other new content and really try to engage in it :)
