I came to Steemit not knowing what I was getting into. I never owned a smart phone, I spent maybe 30 minutes every other day on the computer. My main form of communication was email. I just got facebook! I don't know about this online world. I know travel. I know so much about travel that I thought it was a shame not to share my info and help others. That is why I came to Steemit.
So far I have helped others, and others have helped me. I've met some great people on here. I have whale supporters that see quality and value in my work. I have minnow followers who religiously view everything I post. I have people that value my travel tips. I have people that love my documentary like photos, and ones who love my in-depth travel reports.
I've helped people choose retirement destinations and advised people on travel routs and where to stay in specific locations. I've shown people how affordable it can be to travel around the world on a budget. But being on steemit is not all about me, my knowledge, and who I can share it with. Today I want to talk about some very special people who've I've connected with in significant and meaningful ways.

You were one of the first people to talk to me when I got here 9 weeks ago and I was so lost. I have numerous copies of things you showed me how to do in those first days. And your photos got me hooked anyway.
Yes, you do have a Twitter following now - my world-travel-pro tweets do very well. I tweet out about half of what I upvote and so far - steemit posts are a big hit. My analyitics have exploded over there and I have 100 of us on my steemit twitlist in just weeks since I started!
I know I have tweeted some of the people on your list, but I will make sure I am following all. Any friend of yours is a friend of mine.

You get reputation by having higher reputation people interact with your posts. If your reputation is lower than 25, then it means some of your posts/comments may have been down voted.

Steemit really is a thriving and helpful community, I have also met new people, made amazing contacts and have been supported by those who don't know me from a bar of soap. Well done on persevering and making a success on Steemit! Resteeming this so that more people can acknowledge those who "spread the love".

I have been following @lindsaybowes in my homestead community since joining two months ago. I saw her post about tobacco and thought, "WOW! That is the coolest thing ever". But not until you mentioned it here in this post did I realize she lives in Nova Scotia- just never paid mind to her location.
I had considered growing tobacco myself (in a growing zone south of her) but thought it's too cold here to do. Now I have more inspiration to make the attempt next year.
