Introduction:

As an author, how do you feel when you are complimented on writing a good post?
Happy? If so, then I can also tell you that same applies to every author, as this is simply a characteristic in human behaviour that makes us enjoy compliments.
Be it as little as it may be, authors of blog post take seriously the comments of their readers and they are often compelled to reacting positively by replying or upvoting or even both.

Minnow's yet to discover the importance of commenting usually find it discouraging after churning out so many post with little or no comments,upvotes or resteems despite having high views. The advise at this point is to adopt commenting.
Commenting can fetch you more sbd's than what you make an on an average post as a minnow in a week.
Depending on how you go about this you can make up to 30sbd from just commenting on blog post of authors in a week, You also stand a chance of being recognized amongst authors and fellow commenters, when noticed by an author you have every opportunity of being followed back just for your comment.
In some instance most followers of his would also takes note of your comments and follow you.
And the implication of this is that in the long-run they become readers and upvoters of your post and you can always trace that back to a simple act of commenting.

By reading and commenting on blog posts you stand a better chance to gaining insight to many areas that inspires you to being an author - ejemai.

Before commenting, first and foremost make sure you read the post, it is just that simple. In a bid to being the first to comment so many people leave comments that have no connection to the author's post, this will not only make you look stupid but can also get you flagged which isn't good for a minnow.

Comments left on blog post should be
Interactive
Encouraging
Contributive.

Be interactive:

An interactive comment enables an author to relate to your post, it helps to build a connections between you and the author. The authors psychology at this point gets intertwined with yours and leaves him feeling like he knows you already as he tries to create a mental picture of who it is he is communicating with and focuses on leaving another response that gets the conversation going on and on. This has been proven to give instant follow backs.

Be encouraging:

Start by addressing the author then you proceed to telling him what it was that interested you about his post and how it has provided you with an understanding of the information his post was trying to convey to his audience, trust me if i were the author in this case i'd follow you instantly. This method makes him to think that you see things from his perspective. This also makes him to feel the need to bond with someone with a similar mindset and at this point he is left with no other option but to follow you even if you are not a follower of his.

Be Contributive:

The connection at this point is for you to make. You make your own input to the post and proving you see things from his point of view not the other way round as i said in being encouraging.

There are moments when you don't agree with the authors and being interactive, encouraging and contributive does not come into the picture, do so respectfully, be constructive in your criticism because his followers are watching and based on your comments and the manner you put it you stand to gaining the respect upvotes and followership too.

Links in the comments

I always warn vehemently against this strategy amongst minnows. Even though i use it, yes i do use it, but not in a manner as to undermine myself and look desperate.
This requires a longer time as you must read the post, understand it and then you go over to research about it and have a broader understanding about it,
then you make a post about what you understood from your research which you now link to post of the author.

First,before you go over to posting your link, comment on his post and after your comment you then add the link to the post you made. It is a long process but anything that gain you follow backs, resteems and upvotes isn't a waste of time on steemit. This approach gives you an automatic recognition anytime any day when you comment on the authors post.

Don't duplicate:

The author doesn't need you to duplicating his post, as a matter of interest i would really like to know what it is that people are always so concerned about bring to the authors attention? The author knows about his post, he made the post he doesn't need you reminding him. Telling the author something he already knows is so redundant and shows lack of creativity and laziness on your part. If you are going to do that make sure it comes with your contributions.

Hi, @fuhreresu, excellent blog you have here. Ginabot is free as any SBD you sent to it is returned after registration. The SBD sent to it is just for account validation to eliminate getting alert on another person's account. So, in other words, there is NO activation fee.

You made a lot of excellent points here. Keep steeming.

Hello good morning @greenrun,
Thank you so much for your comment, in fact it is a good example of what this post is intended to achieving and you have just expressed it. Thanks again
@fuhreresu

You are most welcome. ✌️

Haha I'd agree with this 100%. I struggled on steem for the first month or so till i read about guest posting, it was by engaging with other people's content that I got some proper followers etc!

Hello @tfcoates,
Thanks for this comment, it actually corroborates the points in this post. In fact no one makes it up in steemit by playing god but by building connections with people which is the reason why i made this post to actually guide people who havent come to that realization yet.
@fuhreresu

Now that is some of the best of advice I have heard on how to be successful on STEEM. Good insights and a very well presented post. Had to put my glasses on due to the tiny font. lol

You get a follow for this one. If this is any indication of the type of presentations to be found on your blog, you have just gained a devoted follower.

Dear @sgt-dan, thank you so much for this inspiring comment, i am greatly motivated by your words and forgive me for the tiny font, i promise to be more considerate next time thanks once again @fuhreresu

Great article, @fuhreresu! I saw it because you posted it to the PYPT chat this morning. I have added a link to this article in the #resources channel of my Discord Server, and I'm following you now.

I won't be able to upvote this due to my daily limit, but I have resteemed this article as one of my daily post promotions for the @mitneb Curation Trail Project. It will be featured in the @mitneb Curation Trail Project Daily Report for 08 FEB 2018.

Cheers!

@mitneb, thank you so much for this wonderful comment, i am greatly encouraged and motivated by your words and i want you to know that this comment will go a long way with me on my journey on steemit. Thanks @fuhreresu

Very interesting one @fuhreresu thanks for sharing this idea, indeed the best way we all can learn and do better in all ramification is by sharing and understanding the basics of how this system really works. We all can learn faster that way. Steemon!

Great post👏👏👏

Thank you for the tips - as a new user, I have been toying with the idea of using a bot but there are SO many out there! Its hard to decide which ones will make you look spammy and which are actually helpful. This one sounds like its just a tool that Steemit should eventually implement, am I correct?

Dear @madpotters,
Thanks for reading my post and commenting on it, i appreciate that a lot. There are so many bots out there for various purposes and @ginabot is one which is there to helping steemians and you are correct when you say it is one which steemit should eventually implement.
@fuhreresu

Thanks for your input - do you currently use or have used in the past, any other types of bots? Can you recommend any others to start out with? It seems like the more interaction I have with other Steemers, the better Ill do at this whole blogging thing and getting people to read mine. BUT, who has time time (or bandwidth) to interact constantly? Im not talking about an auto commenter or anything like that...but...well I guess I dont know exactly what I am asking for. Just any helpful tips to ensure I am successful without spending my entire life sat at a computer screen. Do you suggest using up as much bandwidth as I have to make comments or spread love until it runs out, or spread it out over a few days to make sure I can do a little something each day?

First of all, when your bandwidth is low, its only about a matter of time before you get it filled back up i think a 4hrs interval. On a 2nd part that is if i understood you question, there are some upvote bots out there that you can use to upvote your post to earn.

Thanks for the tips! 4 hours is crazy though - I'm trying out this new artist lifestyle, and found that I really need to schedule and limit my computer time to specific hours, otherwise I could be at my desk all day long. Or running back and forth in between projects is too disruptive to the process. Hopefully I can manage my usage better to get a little accomplished on Steem each day.

With time you no longer have to worry about your bandwidth.
As you earn more on your steempower the less bandwidth issues you will be having. The bandwidth issues are just there because of a low steempower.

hopefully sooner than later! ive been converting every cent I earn back into SP to help.
