10 Steemit Posting Types - Some Do's and Some Don'ts

Are you a Minnow, swimming in this HF 19 ocean that is now diluted with Steem, hoping to gobble up as much as you can? If you answered "YES"and are looking for some posting advice, here are some tips for making more successful posts!

1) Shit-Posting - DONT

People fucking hate shit posting and you won't make money. I do it every once in a while. Please just don't do it. People see past your "get rich quick with little effort and no content" BS.

Here I basically summarized the Bitcoin white paper... great stuff right? NOPE. Unoriginal and bland.

2) Milestones - DO (but have some self control)

You finally get 100 followers? Cool, post. You make your 500th post? Cool, post. Your upvote now worth $1.00? Cool, post. BUT PLEASE DO NOT OVERDO THIS. We don't need an update every time you get a new follower. Please have some self control.

3) Daily Health - DO

If you don't already follow @steemit-health you are doing this Steemit thing wrong. Commenting on this post daily is a HUGE DO. Not only do you get a nice little payout that adds up day after day, but you get reminded to be a little more mindful about your health.

4) Crypto Price Ticker - DONT

There is a time and place for updating the community on the price of a certain crypto. If you are a crypto guru and can offer the community ORIGINAL CONTENT, go for it! But, if you are simply summarizing a CoinDesk article or copying and pasting the latest charts, please DONT.

Yeah, I fell victim to this...

4) Enter Contests - DO

Please do enter contests. Contests not only give you the chance to possibly earn some Steem, but you also get to interact with whales and dolphins and meet some new Steemians.

5) Post Memes - DO

As long as you aren't just ripping off other people's work, I LOVE MEMES! Original content is always good so please DO.

I actually ended up winning this week's meme contest :)

6) Tutorials - DO

I love learning stuff and there are SO MANY talented individuals on Steemit. Whatever your talent or knowledge may be, please DO share it!

This was the final research project I completed for my Cryptography class. It was well received and resteemed by Ned!

7) Product Reviews - DO

I am hoping you are picking up on the theme here, ORIGINAL CONTENT. If you have just purchased something, especially an item that you think others may be interested in, DO post a product review. I use these and I know others do as well to make educated decisions.

8)Steem Projects - DO

If you are working on a project for the Steem community, please DO share. However, like milestones, you do not need to post everytime you successfully compile your code :)

9) Blatantly Ask for Money (for selfish reasons) -DONT

I just did this the other day and in fact it inspired me to write this article. Please DONT just ask for money, upvotes, and followers. Like, come on mate.

Yep, I am guilty :(

10) Steem Ideas - DO

If you have an incredible idea for the future of Steem, DO share it. You never know... even if you aren't a coder or developer, you may inspire someone who is and begin something truly revolutionary.

Conclusion

These are simply just my own opinions and observations. They may be incorrect and you may take offense to some of them. I am not trying to censor, call out, or attack people who post some of these things. I am simply stating that I have found success/failure with certain types of posts and for those minnows excited by HF 19 looking to post and make some Steem, here is some advice that may be helpful. Cheers!

Good stuff. I'm still a noob and didnt know about this steemit-health blog. So thanks for that little tidbit of info.
I definitely agree with your opinions....especially seeing people copy and paste charts and trading info. As a professional trader, it became very apparent, very quickly that people are passing a lot of "shit" crypto, market, investment, and trading advice.
Good post. Appreciate it.

Thanks a lot! You're a professional trader? How so? I am very interested in trading but intimidated because I don't really know a whole lot about trading ( I do follow cyrpto news but the economics and stuff is scary lol). Followed!

Yep, been trading for a decade now. Holy shit.
Used to be forex...but I've almost switched entirely to cryptos because of the volatility, etc.
I do trading posts from my other account @lonnie.sprinkles
I post trade setups and explain why they are good trades to take, etc. Love to have you follow along, and ask anything you want to know about. I never tire of talking about trading and systems, etc.
And if you're scared about trading, my posts are a good start. I mainly focus on trading the same pattern setup over and over and over. Cuz it's so reliable and profitable. So, no scary stuff involved! No indicators, and dealing with 34 different variables. Just keeping it simple.
Hopefully chat again!

Awesome stuff man! Checking that out right now! Cheers!

I just started doing screencasts. Way more efficient and a lot easier to explain myself than through text. They'll get better as I go along.
I take a lot of very short term trades though, which are hard to post on here. So I'm sticking to a Daily or 4hour setup and entering generally on the 30 min chart!
Have a good one!
