holy shit this is great! I'm legit so excited for this!! However, this means that existing users are being punished as we don't get the extra 0.5% and we don't get the 1.5% for people we already referred! For example, my friend @arctan literally uses Steemit as an investment site, and sells his votes to minnowbooster which he earns SBD from, which I then buy from him LOL. At this point, I'm not getting 1.5% from him and he's not getting the 0.5%, is there some way to add him under me?? Thanks!!
Also, where will we be able to see the people we've referred?
Will we be able to see the date we referred them + the amount earned from them from previous 7 days + lifetime total?

first solve the blacklisting problem, you are blacklisting all the people who are boosting their post.
Fighting abuse is hard and mistakes can happen. The lines between normal users and abusers blur more and more the smarter abusers get.

This is awesome. Also adding the referral program is definitely good.
I hate how referral programs can be easily abused, I don't like how referral programs make me interested in something I wouldn't be interested in otherwise, and they make me engage in MLM-like activities.
But I hope this turns out good in the end. By the way there are still people complaining about your recent anti-bot system you made, I wish you made a huge warning before doing that.

We are working on fighting abuse all the time. And sometimes mistakes can happen. Would we warn spammers of new crackdowns too much, they would not work anymore.
I figured that, but it's very sad when innocent people gets mixed in. Having a scammer hold back your service is better than having a legitimate user hate your service.
Your latest system is a great idea, but you mixed up the bots with people who don't know any better.

There are a few farming rings that just spam us and if we ban them they create fake backstories of what good users they are. And all of them wasting our time with discussion over discussion.
We are currently changing a few things internally and in our concept to make vote buying unprofitable for them and at the same time profitable for minnows.
And as we said, over the next week we will unban everyone we mistakenly banned.

minnowbooster is one of the vote selling, sp leasing, sp delegation service on steemit. Steemit itself doesn't have affiliate link. After you sign up with minnowbooster and login with steemconnect, go under " my account" top right then "user info" you will see your referral link there.

Interesting move - is there an area in the account stats where you can see whether you are qualified for the lifetime bonus then?
You will show as referred by buildteam once you sold your first vote. For your account the bonus is already applied.
