So true! I used to have 6 rigs each with 3-4 video cards and 27 FPGA boards running simultaneously in my garage. My window AC which was the biggest unit I could get at home depot ran 24/7 and the temperature was still 100F + all day. My electric bills were commonly $600 a month at that time. Ouch! But I was earning BTC. :)

Well i live in the UK so we don't get much sun but it has warmed up a bit today and the house starts becoming a nightmare.
I set up my first mining in almost 2 years recently. I have two r9 290x's running in the garage mining ethereum. By themselves they can make my two car garage run at over 85F during the day with the ac running. :) but I have earned .4 ETC in the past month. So I am happy with the results. I am trying to figure out if I can use my 27 fpga boards to run decred. I have tried for hours to get it running but haven't had much luck. I'll keep trying because I would love to run those units again to do something. Of course I live in the northwest of the US where we have sun from 5 am till 10pm this time of year. We get a lot of sun! And it has been hot this year.
You are still running a 290x? what kind of hash rate do you get on those?
I average about 26.5 MH/s on these cards each. I live in a low electricity cost state as well. My electric is .08 KW/h so it these are still profitable. These cards were long ago paid off on scrypt mining back 2 years ago. They say pretty much unused until I saw that the price of Ethereum had climbed super high. Wishing I had ran these contiusously since ethereum launched but what can you do? Haha. I am happy to give them life again!
