Trip to the Biggest Computer mall in Hong Kong (AMD graphics cards and more!)

in #mining7 years ago

Hong Kong has an infamous computer mall called the Golden Computer Center. This building is entirely dedicated to computers, laptops, DIY components, Phone cases and anything related to the digital realm.

Whilst the entire mall is about computers and electronics, every shop is individually owned with shops only occupying small cubicle like spaces. This is a photo of whats inside, needless to say there are a LOT of people. There is also high price variation between shops, so people like to shop around and compare prices before buying an item.

DIY computers are easy to build there. The components are on display and shops have packages that you can pick and they will build it for you. That means customizable PCs for everyone !

#AMD Vega Anyone?

Now that AMD Vega is out, they are selling the card for a marked up price of $5999 HKD for Vega Pro 64. I was tempted to buy the card but reconsidered after reading some reviews online. Also note they sell PCI -e Risers right next to the cards . hahah guess what people are doing with the cards after buying them. RX 480 are out of stock.

Its the paradise

hello from Brisbane, I miss this crowded mall in Hong Kong, haha! 😀

haha its super crowded but the stuff is relatively cheap!

This looks like an ideal place to get a cheap mining rig!

its got the parts ! but they are also scalping some AMD gpus.

that's how i see paradise!

Looks like writeable physical media like DVD-R are still popular there.

$6K for a card is insane! That would be a place I would get lost in for hours looking at everything...lol
