One question I have is this:
How much data/bandwidth does this use/require, and do you need a constant connection?
And, does a faster connection === more BTC mined?

It uses very little data, needs constant connection though, network speed does not affect performance, unless there are connectivity issues that can cause less than the optimal performance.
