Recently I've had a little time on my hands. So naturally, I go in the back room to organize and explore the collections we've picked up. The other day, a friend stopped by to visit. He likes to go with me in the back with me to see what's new. He was particularly interested in the anhydrites I have.
He immediately liked this specimen, with it's blue and yellow. But what made it more interesting was little spikes coming off the sides.
Actually, they weren't spikes but sagihedral calcite crystals peeking out from the other side.
At first glance with the naked eye, they look like mouse droppings. And this side is not so appealing.
However, after viewing with our stereoscope, things are much clearer.
right away he asked how much and purchased it.
I love our stereoscope.
