RE: "Dear Brave U.S. Soldier..."

This is a fine, sobering post exposing the military for what it really is. Reports such as this are much needed nowadays, when soldiers are trotted out at various events and hailed as heroes.

Whether it's a political rally or just a professional sports match, it's sickening to see a few soldiers / veterans trotted out before the game for the singing of the national anthem. They are presented as heroes, and the crowd salutes them ... all because their country's military sent them overseas to some far off land to kill people.

Of course, they also appear on talk shows and news shows – any time and any place that a little patriotic fervour needs whipping up.

I have nothing against those men / women in particular. They're basically pawns of the military and the government. This post serves as one way of making them aware of that fact, if they don't know it by now.
