Congrats! What a milestone!

My boys and I rescue severely abused and burned pets. My youngest son bonded hard with a tiny polydactyl kitten. She was two weeks old when we rescued her, and amongst other things she had been painted head to toe in several layers house paint, which had of course dried.

After she survived her medical issues my son Nik decided she was going to be his permanent kitty. Which was kindof a given as she followed him everywhere, even into the shower.

It was time to adjust her to sleeping in his room. Being so tiny for her age, I was frightened he would roll over on her in his sleep. So, I did the proverbial Mama thing and checked on her throughout the night. Every two hours.

Ok, Ok, it was more like every twenty minutes, but who's counting.

I would steal quietly into Niks room and use my phone as a light to ensure she was still in the little bed we had fashioned beside his. She would open her eyes and beacon me with her tiny purr, and of course my heart would melt and I would have a hard time stopping cuddling her.

She grew quickly and my checkups became less frequent, down to one a night.

I decided this was to be my last night and I crept into the bedroom. I had grown accustomed to navigating my pre-teen sons room obstacles so walked through without the aid of my phone. I placed my hand on her and my heart stopped. She felt wrong. Warm but... gooey. Very wrong. I rushed to turn on the light. And there, in the kittens bed, was part of a honeyed biscuit. Remnants from that nights KFC dinner.

And there, on the bed, were Nik and the kitten. Cheek to cheek on his pillow. With matching wide, guilty eyes and their faces covered in biscuit crumbs.

We named the kitten Biscuit.

Sent your 10 Steem. :)

Woohoo!

Thanks!

You're welcome!

Ok, Ok, it was more like every twenty minutes, but who's counting.

That line is just one of many that had me laughing after a sweet moment of kindness.

This a beautiful story and I thank you for sharing it with everyone.

The description "Word Dominatrix" from your biography is quite fitting. You have proven from your homelessness article just how gifted you are.

May you continue to be blessed by sharing your life and wisdom with this community. God bless you.

Thank you so much. Seriously, that really means a lot. I wish you many blessings as well, and it is an honor to have met you here at this spectacular community. I look forward to many more shares and discussions. Be Blessed :)

Yes! Many more shares and discussions to come. :)

Congratulations @lydon.sipe
I was 12 years old when i told my father about a dirty adult joke. He got angry and i became sorry that i was such a bad son. I asked for forgiveness and he told me i should go take 12 lemons. I asked whether that will free me from my sin and he replied; No but it will free my face from that dirty grin. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Lol! That many lemons should do the trick! Thank you for sharing this with us!

Congratulations to you for this milestone, I am very supportive of you and I know what it's like to achieve such numbers.
Continue your work to get a big milestone later on.
Good job @lydon.sipe

Thank you @barvon.

You have been supporting me for quite some time, and I am grateful for it.

I'll definitely keep working to earn some bigger and better milestones. Have a blessed day my friend.

^_^ Ok!

The other day I was sitting down eating cereal with my young daughter. We both had our own kind of cereal. She leaned over to me and have me a sweet hug and a kiss. As I'm about to take a bite she said, "Daddy, that looks like the perfect size bite for a little girl." How could I say no to that logic.

Haha, no arguing here!

Somebody has daddy's ear.

When Frozen first came out, we brought our (then) 3 year old daughter to go see it in the movie theater. It was her first experience in a theater setting, and she was mesmerized by the experience. At the very beginning of the movie after the opening credits, the camera pans from a village scene to a beautiful starry sky. The whole theater is silent - but my daughter quickly pipes up: "Where's baby Jesus?" Of course - a quaint village, a sky full of stars - who else would we be looking for?

One more... Around this same time, my daughter had just learned how to use the marvel of Siri on our family iPad. I come walking in from the back room and overhear her request: "Siri, show me silly videos of friends putting toys in toilets." SMH. Lol. Brave new world, indeed.

Lol!

Those are both great!

Was there some chuckling around you after you daughter's question?

Yes, it was quite entertaining. A little awkward with such a quiet movie theater, but being a dad, you just learn to embrace it and enjoy the ride. :P

Haha, yes, awkward at first.

These experiences make for great stories afterwards. :P

Congratulations! You deserve 10,000!

Haha, you are too kind! We are working towards that.

It won't be long.......

Congrats on the

My funny, true story: One day my brother and I were playing out in the yard and by playing out in the yard, I mean he was pretending that I was his cow as he tied me to the fence. Later that day, I rode my bicycle to the store. I tried to cross an intersection as a car ran the red light and wham I was hit. Only the bike was damaged. My dad asked my brother, "What if the last memory you had of your sister was tying her up to the fence?" I don't remember how he answered the question, but I love to share that story with the members of the church he pastors. He was so mean, but he was my first best friend. Oh brother!!!

Oh brother is right! Haha, I bet he stopped tying you to the fence after that.
