Base of weight loss and fat loss is calorie deficit means that when we eat less calorie which is required(daily maintenance calorie) to our body then our body starts loosing weight day by day, weeks of weeks or months of months .
But you have to understand that weight loss is a slow process. You can't see results in a day, a week, or even a month. For good results you have to wait for 2-6 month at least.
Some people don't take food and they think that they can loos weight but it will be very dangerous for our body and internal organs .
You can also increase your daily maintenance calorie by workout. If you think that for workout i have to go Gym. Then I say no, you can workout at home, garden and even dancing and swimming also a good workout but you have to find only an hour in your daily sechdual doesn't matter in evening, morning or afternoon.
