Blind catfish
Blind catfish is a fish found on marshland. It has been found in a deep well in Irinjalakuda area of Thrissur district of south Indian state of Kerala.
Scientists who have discovered this organism have told the BBC that the fish with a blood-colored fish is 3.78 centimeters long. Its body is long and cylindrical.
Professor Bijoy Nandan of the University of Science and Technology of Cochin University of Science and Technology said, "We have just got information about the physical nature of this organism. Now we are trying to get information about its molecular properties so that we can connect any relationship with the ancestors and the development of this organism. "
Indeed, the founding of blunt catfish in the Indian environment and ecosystems is almost rare because it is the organism of the underground species found in the deep well.
Kerala is famous for its marshland land. According to scientists, the swampy terrain of India's Southwest coast and its environmental harmony here is an ideal condition for the presence of underground organisms.
Bijoy Nandan said, "Recording of blind catfish can provide interesting details, which will give information about the development of these organisms besides the classification of fishes. It can also know what the relationship can be with these fish found in other countries. '
The biologist says that when the well or the tunnel is excavated, then this species takes place in their deep holes. He explains that deep sea wells, hot water fountains help in providing information on their development process.
The name of this new species, Blind Cat Fish, has been named Horregarnis Abdulkalami in the name of former President Abdul Kalam. Its name has been given unprecedented support in the fields of science and encouraging youth to research and science as a career choice.
A different character of this fish is that its color is red like blood and has no eyes.
These species live on organic substances found in the soil. At the same time, it is not only a custodian but also contributes significantly to the environment.
Scientists say that the information about the genus of the new species, Blind Catfish is not yet available, but this is about to work so that its development can be known.
