Bangladesh is a land of nature decorated with six seasons and filled with infinite charm, light and shade. She is the darling child of nature. The green fields, the blue sky, the yellow corns have an unending preoccupation for all.

There are six seasons in Bangladesh and these are summer, rainy season, autumn, late autumn, winter and spring. These six seasons come one after another with their full variety. Each season has its own charm and beauty. Spring is the last and the most beautiful of all seasons. It is called the king of seasons. In the cycle of seasons the spring occupies an exalted position. It is rich in flowers, color, music and fragrance and also rich is vegetation and light. The hot days, scorching sun and sweating nights make life especially discomfort in summer. Coming after winter it captivates the hearts of people all at once.

With the advent of spring, a gentle breeze from the south begins to blow and nature puts on a festal and lively appearance. The trees and plants are adorned with leaves, new buds and flowers. The trees are also changed with new leaves. The trees become full of flowers of varied color and fragrance. Many kinds of flowers like Kamini, Bakul, roses, Beli And Rajonigandha become especially graceful during spring. It is neither hot nor cold and becomes really very pleasant to move in the morning and in the evening.

Since ancient times, spring festivals are celebrated in this region of Bengal. Bangladeshi people welcome and celebrate this day with great love and in a colorful manner. Bakultola of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dhaka University (DU) was the center point of the festival. Thousands of people (young men and women) gathered in the morning and celebrated the day by reciting poems, dancing and singing songs.

Historians and researchers have said that history of the spring festival in India is quite old. This festival is mentioned in Hindu myths and folklore. Hindu Vaishnavas celebrate this festival fairly well and this festival is known by many different names for example, DOL(swing), DOL Purnima, Holi.
source
According to the Vaishnava belief, on the day of Phalguni Purnima or DOL Purnima, Krishna used to play colors with Radhika and other gopis with Abir and Gulal in Vrindavan. From that incident the origins of DOL (swing play).
Spring brings hope not only in nature, but also in the lives and minds of people of all ages. Colorful flowers, melody of birds or mild touch of the sunshine – everything will make you feel that springtime is the nature’s festival.
