India is swiftly moving towards acquiring five ad vanced S-400 Triumf air defence missile systems from Russia despite the looming threat of US sanctions with the defence ministry having Gudlavalcleared the decks for the pro- posed Rs 39,000 crore deal. The defence acquisitions council(DAC), chaired by minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday okayed "minor deviations" in the mega deal.
