These terms are typically used as substitute of each other but actually these two words contains a huge science in it. These two terms are totally different from each other. If you want to loss some weight you must be carefull before that, Human body is composed of Muscles and Fats, these two compounds contribute to make your overall mass of the body.
Muscles are the important part of the body, Their are around 600 muscles in the human body that helps to support your bones. Lets look into the example for that If you pick up some heavy object body uses the bones to move in order to lift that object, the muscles around that bones then support the bone. The object lifted by the body will be felt heavy if the amount of muscle around the bones are less and one who have the large amount of muscle around the bone will lift it easily without feeling it.
Fats are termed as the stored energy that does not contribute in doing the daily life activities but helps the body to survive if you stop eating. Excess of the Fats in the body will make it bulky and body mass will increase from normal this extra Fats will compress the veins and nerves and this stress on veins will result in restricted blood flow in it, this situation is very much dangerous that gives birth to the harmful diseases in the body.
If you stop eating without any proper nutrition plan and do exercises without proper workout plan or experience trainer eventually with the passage of time your body mass will decrease which actually is termed as "weight loss". In this type of weight decrease you are not aware which thing you have lost either it will be muscle or fats but most probably you had lost your muscle and fats both.
One thing that have to be kept in mind is that you have to loss fat and conserve the muscle mass this should be done with proper planning. For tapping the fat you don't have to stop eating, don't have to do a lot of exercises and running all the time. Every aspect of exercise should be done but in limit. The most beneficial way of losing fats is to prefer the weight training not cardio vascular activities. The amount of fat loss is much more while you do weight training because in training you tear your muscle and the body is burning calories at the same time and after training the same muscle tends to go in recovery mode and the body do burn calories in the off training period as well, In short the weight training is two way fat burning formula. The cardio exercises like running, walking, jogging, aerobics and all activities that boost your heart beat rate will give you result means burn fat and muscle(if you don't care of your nutrition) at time you are doing it when you stop the activity the body will no more respond to fat.
Weight training will make you muscular and your body shape will be amazing, but if you loss muscle your body will be skinny, though you have lost weight but your shape will still be the same.
I agree with you. Mostly people think of loosing kilos. But normal weight loss can include water loss and muscle loss as well. One should target for retaining muscles and loosing fat. More muscle , you burn more in resting mode. Thanks for the information. Cheers!
