Umar ibn Al-Khattab (RA) was a standout amongst the most ground-breaking and compelling Muslim caliphs ever. He was a senior sidekick of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He succeeded Abu Bakr (RA) (632– 634) as the second caliph of the Rashidun Caliphate on 23 August 634. He was a specialist Muslim legal scholar known for his devout and just nature, which earned him the appellation Al-Farooq (the person who recognizes – amongst good and bad).
