It was believed that omega 3 fatty acids play an important role in keeping the heart healthy. But a research has found that this very important element found in fish, nuts and some seeds is effective in preventing cancer. This study was led by Aditi Das of Indian origin in the University of Illinois.
In this study, it has been found that biomedicine of omega 3 fatty acids can contain anti-cancer agents. Researchers say that after consuming omega 3 fatty acids, when its metabolism begins in the body of the person, then it produces endocannabinoid molecule EDP-EA. There are also anti-inflammatory substances, which prevent cancer from growing. EDP-EA has the same properties as found in marijuana. But it does not affect the brain and it also targets the same receptor of the body, which has the effect of marijuana.
Principal researcher Aditi Das said that there is an endocannabinoid system in our body, which reduces swelling and pain. Now we have also discovered to be anti-cancer. It prevents cells from growing and puts obstruction in moving from one place to another. This study has been published in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry.
During the study the researchers saw the effect of endocanabinoidic molecules in osteosarcoma tumor mice. It is bone cancer, which is not only painful, it is also very difficult to treat. Experts observed that endocrine benigna stopped the growth of tumor and prevent cancer cells from transferring blood vessels from one place to another. This caused cancer cells to end.
In earlier studies, it has been said that a healthy adult should take Omega 3 fatty acids according to its weight. Some people may also have obesity due to this, so take the doctor's advice before taking it. Under normal circumstances a healthy person can take 4 grams of dose daily. Children, pregnant and lactating women can consume up to 2 grams daily.
