A Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) That Works

I have been involved in this space since 2014 and as far as organization goes, few groups manage to be quite as effective as METAGAME. They have managed to build a system where the community is able to reward _players _for all their efforts. It involves a system called sourcecred, by which the community can assign value based reactions from within the Discord Community. Think HIVE upvotes, but expand it to all web2 platforms.

Tokenomics

Their native token is called SEED. Seeds are distributed to players in the Metagame based on their engagement. Once the seeds are distributed the player can plant them, which in turn yields more seeds and also helps build the player's reputation in the organization.

The Mission

In their manifesto they criticize the current system as being overly profit driven. Instead of adding value to the world, we currently only work for money. Money is ultimately fake, so all our work means nothing. We add nothing good to society by playing this game.

Metagame aims to change society by giving creatives a space where they can build freely without needing to worry about money. They aim to build a space where creatives are rewarded for their contributions, a space for production. Where work is not just the hours you are forced to spend sharpening pencils because that's your job description.

Most of all they aim to unite the world and to build a better future. They are working to leave something for humanity after all of us are dead and gone.
