Letters to Daniel
DP Mark Maness

Dear Daniel Craig,

I wanted more than anything to win the drama category at Indie Gathering. We fell just shy at 2nd Place. I'm not about to complain. EVERYONE makes dramas, you can make them at a low budget, scare up some solid actors and a solid script, be lucky enough to put together a dream team and you just might create special which we did.

First off rewrites of the script only ever yielded us Honorable Mention in the script writing competition at Indie Gathering. There is nothing shameful about an HM at Indie Gathering. You have to score a 90 out of a 100 for an award.

We were able to transform an honorable mention script into a second place movie. I'd really like to see the movie that beat us. Not out of bitterness but out of simple curiosity.

Missy and I worked hard to put the cast, crew and post-production team together. A mixture of Indie Gathering and AOF alumni and connections we now will be screening at Indie Gathering the weekend of August 13-16th.

Finishing second place guarantees me a trophy and if the team works hard enough at it we could get the viewer's choice award. Which while not the overall title belt it a belt of acheivement just the same.

Letters to Daniel I scoped my box for Indie Gathering results all day Wednesday. I drove myself into exhaustion. Overall we won five script awards and four film awards.

With different members of the cast and crew attending it should be a great weekend. I just have to survive the screening.

Sincerely,

Amy McCorkle
