You might be confused, because currently the dollar value of Steem is going down. The 'Estimated Account Value' is just that, an estimated value of your Steem dollars if they were converted to (US) dollars today.

Not so long ago, an SBD was worth like 8 USD. Now, it is worth like 1.70. Allot of this has to do with the value of crypto dropping in general, bitcoin taking the lead in the drop. Some of this may be related to the fact that google recently banned crypto advertising.

It just goes to show you how much power Silicon Valley has. Not only in information are they censoring, but also information (in the form of advertisements) pertaining to crypto.

Seemingly, it is a constant cycle of dips and spikes.
The smart money normally tends to buy at the dips.

I'm expecting it to recover at some point, but who knows.
