When I left major social media a few years back, my life started having considerably less bullshit in it and has been better because of it. I still have messenger because you have to if you want to be able to contact businesses, but other than that I have no photos of me on my pages and I haven't posted or commented anything in many years. It has freed up a lot of time for me to do things in life that truly matter, such as collecting memes off of 9gag.
I haven't been involved as much as I used to because once I got my reading glasses I started reading between sets in the gym instead of looking at 9gag. I find that ever looking at 9gag to be a waste of time as well, just not as much as FB or IG is.
Here are some of the ones that I have seen that affected me in some way over the past several weeks. Hopefully you enjoy them as well. You can steal them if you want to because they weren't mine to begin with.
This made me laugh because this is exactly me in video games and I think it says a lot about me as a person and how I don't really want to hurt other people's feeling ever. When given a choice to be a cunt to a stranger in a game I will almost always choose to be friendly. Some games have some sort of reputation that will be built in and the NPC might actually attack you if you are mean to them but that is not why I am polite. I am polite because I don't feel the need to be unnecessarily hurtful towards others even if they are a bunch of zeros and ones.
Before I moved overseas I had the movie-induced perception of the British being all prim and proper, dressed really nice with a sharp wit and desire to benefit the communities that they are involved in. As it turns out they are just as rude and uncouth as any other population in the world and this shouldn't be much of a surprise. I'm not saying that they are any worse than anyone else because that isn't the case at all. They are just as bad though, that is for sure.
The other day we were remarking about how in the expat community here in SE Asia it is actually very rare for someone to own a car. This is likely true for most people not in the expat community as well who live in Asia. However, back in USA basically everyone had to have a car. If you didn't have a car you better live in LA, Chicago, NYC or something like that because you gun be doin a lot of walking elsewise and taxis cost a fortune.
I do recall when I was in college with my piece of shit car that I would go and get oil changes and the mechanics would always tell me other problems that they found and I would do something like this. It isn't that I don't care, it's that I have a choice of either fixing my brakes or eating this month and well, I'd rather eat.
I suppose this technically isn't a meme but it hit my right in the feels. This is really the case with most dogs and the great tragedy with having a dog is normally only the very end of it that the dog doesn't even get to be witness to. This is something that I dread as time goes on and if Nadi (my dog) even starts to act a bit more tired than usual I feel like I need to take her to the vet. She gets treats all the time just for being alive and nothing else. We do a lot together but I always feel like I could be doing more.
If you have a dog or have had one, I am sure you can appreciate the message in the above cartoon because it is so true.
Sorry to leave you on a down note but that one impacted me a lot more than chats about oil changes, video games, or misconceptions about British people. :)
The Brits have their own language when it comes to swearing and it doesn't matter if they are from the upper crust or not they all swear. I found most of the people there are very lazy in their language and sometimes hard to understand as there is so much slang.
One of the great joys of living in a multi-national expat community is that we all have different words for the same things. In my "inner circle" I suppose we could call it was have Canadians, Americans, Australians, a Kiwi, Brits, Scots, some Irish, and a few Saffas. I learn some new colloquial word almost every time I hang out in this group and I think all of them do as well.
Man, that last one...
My wife and I just said goodbye to our dog of almost fifteen years at the end of October, and it's taken months to work through the grief. Upvoted in memory of Quake. ♥️
awww. poor Quake. It's one of the great tragedies of dog ownership but in the end the good times make it all worth it. I am sure that is really tough to get through man. I am sure you see Quake in almost everything that you do.
I know that the few times that I take my dog to the haircut salon she is not around me for just a few hours and the dread kicks in that at some point in the, likely, next 4 years or so, that quiet in my apartment is going to be what it is like every day.
And you've forgotten to put Nadi as your signature closing
I remember you mentioned you're once stayed in Thailand before moved to Vietnam. I'm not sure how Da Nang youngsters are, but the Malaysian culture is similar to Thai, when the oil change is due, we also noticed we need a set of new magnesium lightweight wheel, a sets of adjustable shocks, lowering springs. Oftenly find the engine require new fuel map as the gas pedal feels a little numb when hitting 240kph 🤣 the mech is the one who usually ask us to make an appointment next month to come back for the "other maintenances" which is less important. No we're not rich, we just like to make our slow car fast.
That really depending on which part of the world you came from. I grew up watching Hollywood show, and I have the exact same feeling as you. Because the "contradictory" character in our Hollywood show has always been British accents 🤣 it works the same but counter clockwise when a Brits watching Nothing Hill, not every American girl looks like Anna Scott(Julia Roberts). Me? I'm a Chinese. I watch porn 🤣
No comment on the keyboard warrior ordeal. As you said, after I detached from Facebook, life become way easier. I've got once a "really" good friend invited me for her wedding in FB RSVP, which I totally omitted because I didn't check back. And we're "not really" that good friend anymore. But again, should I care if the invitation was Facebook Only?
You made me spit a little bit of my coffee out with that. good one!
I have missed a number of invitations that came my way that were sent FB only and no, I don't think you should feel bad about that. IF the person was a true friend they would know another way of getting in touch with you or at least know someone who knows some way of getting in touch with you. I frequently get asked about why I didn't come to this birthday or that and it is always some sort of FB group invite and I respond "sending an invite to me on FB is the same as not inviting me at all."
I understand what you mean about not finding spending all your time on 9gag fruitful. I don't understand how people spend so much time on YouTube. So much of it seems mindless. I'm at the point where I am thankful each morning I wake up and my dog is still breathing. There are some I need to check her real close to make sure before I go downstairs to work out!
I waste too much time on YouTube as well. I've been trying to get that out of my life and try to never go to YT with the intention of just watching "whatever." I need to be going there for a specific purpose such as the other day I needed to learn how to tighten the brake cables on my bicycle. That was handy for sure.
I know I am jumping the gun here because Nadi has a lot of time left surely, but every now and then when she hasn't moved in a while I check to see if she is breathing as well. It's so tragic knowing that it is coming.
I tend to only watch YouTube when I need to fix something. Though occasionally I do get sucked into those videos of people crushing stuff with a pneumatic press or those guys that drop stuff off that dam. Jovi is going to have her annual check up coming this spring, so I have a feeling we will get a better idea of just how much time she has left then.
I believe leaving major social platforms was kinda Best thing you did. Doom scrolling eat up your whole time and limiting yourself to screen is something happened to me and left it.
Bruh, Creating memes is something I never gets tired.
These #Memes are really Entertaining man! !LOL literally that NPC meme is Relatable meanwhile Haven't seen british guy in real yet just in movies.
Nothing hurts more than when mechanic starts telling problem and also for tuning purpose when mechanic use your oil for that 🤣.
Lemme add one more for that NPC one! LoL.

There are so many versions of this meme and they always pick on Chrome. I don't understand why anyone uses Chrome with all the bad press it gets. I do enjoy that no one even bothers to make memes about MS Edge because who the hell uses that?
Haha Yeah true!
Some still use chrome... I prefer brave that works pretty much Good.
Gracias por actualizarme y definir un poco , muy buenos tus memes y yo también prefiero comer que arreglar el auto por eso no lo uso casi. Un abrazo👍
