I hope it is working well for you, with 189 followers i am pulling 7 to 21 upvote in one post cause i am building them naturally without playing around. While with 1000 plus followers you are getting 2 to 3 upvote. Anyhow, i am not here to discuss strategies. If you think yours is better long term, then good luck with that as you are the master of your blog and do as you wish.
