Massive Steemit Meetup

Held last night - downtown Buenos Aires, Argentina

I posted notice a week or so ago here on Steemit and though only 50 registered, we had well over 75 in attendance.

If you are on Meetup.com, see the attendees on their page here. See if you know any one who showed up, or read their comments.

Held at the Bitcoin Center (esppacio bitcoin) which is owned and operated by the founders of the Bitcoin Foundation in Argentina with a big iron mesh bitcoin logo stamped in the door.

Entrance - Great advertising

Inside, there are three floors of offices, meeting rooms and bitcoin-based businesses and office space.

A quiet place to work, where you have phones and high speed internet.

Things warmed up with Diego Z. giving a brief explanation of bitcoin for those who don't know about blockchain technology.

Packed in...

Thank you!

Afterwards, there was a 20 minute break to chat and grab a bite - Empenadas for ฿0.00168 each! such a deal.

Finally we started the meeting with a presentation on Steemit - given by @elmato - Great job Matias!

He covered starting an account, the tools page, the varying liquidity of SD, SP and Steem. He also familiarized everyone with voting rewards, payment for content, and we even took a look at @dantheman and some of his posts.

There were many others with more professional equipment snapping pictures, and I am sure that content will also make it's way to Steemit soon. I spoke to @fran2k who promised to have a full video of the event in Spanish up on Steemit via youtube soon.

Steem tools.

Some of the other topics covered centered around usage and language issues. Most people here can navigate web sites in English to get started with Steemit, but as is happening in Asia and Germany, posts can be bilingual or even tagged in Spanish.

The best was that people had the concept of Steemit explained in their own language by those of us using it. All discussion was nothing but positive.

Sorry of the pictures are glowing a bit. I just want to get the word out - things ARE happening internationally. :)

Thank you for sharing this material, I like what you posted.

Ya entiendo tu lucha con el idioma. Me siento igual cada vez que escriba en castellano igual como dijiste en tu blog. Ya leí algunos articulos tuyos y se entiende!
