Fresh from the Women In Business event organised by @yasminep, I went off to grab a quick lunch with @khimgoh, @littlenewthings and another fellow Steemian of whom I have forgotten her Steemit ID (Ooppss, sorry).
During lunch we spoke about our key takeaways from the event and what we have learned. We concurred that there is indeed a need for women to unite together and encourage one another, be it in the corporate world or in business. We hope that after the event, these women will heed the message and assist other women who may be struggling in their business or career so that they too can help others.
After lunch, I hurriedly make my way to the Steemit Bootcamp with Catalyst organised by @maverickfoo and @coachmelleow. The aim of the bootcamp was to raise funds for an initiative helm by @coachmelleow known as Catalyst.
What is Catalyst?
Catalyst is a social enterprise that was birthed 5 years ago with the aim to empower young Social Entrepreneurs from Nigeria and Zimbabwe through coaching, mentoring and leadership development. Catalyst offers guidance, direction and support to the locals to equip them with the necessary skills to thrive in life.
Here are some photos of the beneficiaries of Catalyst courtesy of @coachmelleow:

By the time I arrived at the venue together with @khimgoh and @littlenewthings it was almost 3pm and the class was already in session with @maverickfoo covering on the topic of "Followers" and "Tags". As usual he never runs out of SX18 jokes and pretty soon, he had all of us in stitches.
After the session, @bitrocker2020 took over and explained what is a "Witness" and the importance of voting for a Witness, before he whipped out his camera and had all of us dance and sing along to Ed Sheeran's song, "Shape Of You" to fulfill @anomadsoul's request. Coincidentally, that was one of my favourite songs from Ed Sheeran, so both @khimgoh and I immediately groove to the music and sang.
The bootcamp ended at around 5pm with a group photography session by @orangila.
As usual, some Steemians including @bitrocker2020 decided to have some food and drinks nearby so we headed to a Malay restaurant for food which was recommended by @zord189. The restaurant surprisingly served pretty good food and we ended eating and listening to @maverickfoo's travel adventures and his observations of life in a foreign land.
We also spoke about the highs and lows of community building before @orangila and later @bitrocker2020 left to attend the #steem-music event happening in town. We left the restaurant much later that night. After bidding farewell to @littlenewthings and @maverickfoo, me and @joannewong felt hungry after all the chatting and so...
We went for food hunting, again!! (I know right?!)
This time we decided to have desserts instead. As most of the shops nearby have closed for the night, we decided to walk across the street and have some Taiwanese desserts instead. I had a nice bowl of Taro balls boiled with ginger. We chatted until closing time, before we finally said our goodbyes and headed home.
What an eventful Saturday it was...

I saw the graphic, and I thought this was somehow connected to Kickstarter? But after reading the article, I'm thinking no?
Not sure if it's your intention, but "kickstart" in that color green does suggest Kickstarter for those who are familiar with the site.
Glad to hear about steemians meeting up in the real world!
Hi @jpgaltmiller, thanks for dropping by. This is not "Kickstarter" as you have pointed out. If you take a closer look at the logo on the upper right corner, it is the logo of Steemit.club. It is a website where we provide more information on what Steemit is and how people can benefit when they join Steemit. It is also a community driven initiative by #teammalaysia to create more awareness of Steemit.
As for the color green, it is purely coincidental as we follow the official green color used by Steemit. I hope this clears your doubt.
And yes, over in Malaysia we have an active and robust group of Steemians who organised quite a fair bit of meet ups and get togethers

Must be a busy day since so many events happen at the same day. Wow! You guys really sing the song. Great collaboration and support.
Oh yeah, it was definitely a busy day especially when you have an active bunch of Steemians from #teammalaysia. I highly encourage you and the rest of the Penangites to organise your own meetups too to keep things going, now that @epivictus, @tadstrange @killuminatic and @izyan are all in Penang
Yes, planning to do that next week. Depending whether they have time or not to join in.
Great! Do post it up on Discord and update us all on the turnout
