STEEMIT PORT HARCOURT PARADE: 1500 FLYERS, 1 DOZEN T-SHIRTS AND 16 NEW MEMBERS in 2 DAYS

Hello Steemians. Quick update of upcoming Steemit Port Harcourt Parade which is a precursor towards the Port Harcourt Meetup, now slated for August 2017.

It became imperative to build a community in Port Harcourt before hosting a meetup because most of the users here are or should I say have certain knowledge of the workings of Steemit.
To me, I think the whole Idea to host a meetup is to get together with fellow steemians, rub minds and then educate newbies about the operations of Steemit and I figured we need new members to educate, and without new members, we are just a people without a community and ultimately without a driven purpose.

Just today, the team took delivery of 1500 flyers, (thanks to @timcliff for the flyers campaign he spearheaded and we were able to get a sample) 1 dozen T-Shirts which will just be enough for some very few persons (we had to work with what was available, so you may be seeing few people with the T-Shirts on).

WHERE IS THE PARADE TAKING US TO?
un(1).jpg We will be storming the University of Port Harcourt where we expect to spend the entire afternoon and hope the rain will allow us have a dry parade. We plan to make the parade a 2 day affair if the rains put paid on the 1 day affair.

WHY THE UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT?
Doh! It is the UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT people and it is where we hope and expect to get intellectuals and success driven individuals to come on Steemit and also there is diverse ethnic nationality there and through this parade, the spreading of the Steemit message will be faster.
It is nearing the end of the school session and it is just the right time and there are probably many bloggers and writers waiting for an opportunity like this.

WHO IS GOING?
There are presently over a dozen Steemians who have indicated interest in joining us and we are also expecting to get at least 8 new members to join us, although they are still waiting for their accounts to be verified, they are as excited as I am to hit the ground running.
So we hope to be all over the place to share 1500 flyers and educate newbies about Steemit and the amazing potentials the platform holds.

On a happier note; I registered 16 people in 2 days and I am hoping they get their accounts verified on time so that they individually come on the platform with their strength.

We are also hoping more people will join us and help create a formidable platform for Nigerians who have desires to do something better with their time. So please kindly indicate in the comment section.
It is time we see our smartphones as money making devices and not just for selfies and facebook.
