Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin has been among the most ardent supporters of imprisoned hip-hop artist Meek Mill.
By now the story is well known. Mill was sentenced to two-to-four years in prison back in November after multiple violations of his probation stemming from gun and drug charges.
Since then, the sports world has taken up his cause in a big way. And now, Mill will be a free man. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday to release Mill from prison after it decided that a corrupt law enforcement officer was behind the initial charges, per TMZ Sports.
Set to be released later on Tuesday, Rubin is the individual that will pick Mill up from prison.
"Michael Rubin, co-owner of the Philadelphia 76ers basketball team and the New Jersey Devils hockey team, will reportedly pick up Meek Mill from prison. Rubin has been one of Mill's advocates and visited him several time in jail," CBS News reported.More than that, Mill will attend Game 5 of the Sixers' playoff series against the Miami Heat Tuesday night should he make it to the arena in time.
Rubin also noted that star Sixers center Joel Embiid called him regarding the news of Mill's release.

If Mill is indeed on hand for the Sixers' potential series-clinching Game 5 game against Miami, it's going to be an absolutely insane scene at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
