There is a connection between your concentration and our relaxation.
When we try to focus on a point, our body tries to prepares us for a battle in alert state. But when that happens our Yin pool of energy is tight and you use the energy inside of your body to concentrate. If you do it long enough you will feel tired. So if you want to be in a flow state you need to know and observe your body if it is too stiff or too relaxed.
The best way is to focus on a middle point of a stick, but then you try with your peripheral sight to see the endings of the stick. In order to achieve that you need to willingly make your body still and relaxed. When properly done you will see both the center and the endings of the stick. By that practice you will be able to have rests even in moments of intense focus and concentration. Because a true focus is calm and light concentration.
