I have been watching the documentary "The Healing Miracle" by moviemaker Jeff Hays (www.TheHealingMiracle.com ).
I am blown away by the potential for stem cells to assist our bodies to heal. Stem cells have several approved sources: from the patient themselves with adipose (fat) tissue, from amniotic fluid, and from umbilical cords. Doctors have been experimenting with stem cells for the past 20 years. Research has also used embryonic sources which creates a lot of controversies. I suppose because of the potential for abuse.
"Stem cell policy
Research using human embryonic stem cells
Policy statement
The Canadian Cancer Society will fund research using human embryonic stem cells when:
~ the research is deemed meritorious by an expert panel of reviewers through the grant review process managed by the Canadian Cancer Society
~ the research holds the promise of offering important information that could reduce the burden of cancer
~the research is in accordance with federal legislation and regulatory processes governing the use of human embryonic stem cells in research, which prohibits cloning and the creation of embryos strictly for research purposes, but permits research on embryos no longer needed for reproductive purposes donated with full informed consent

Still, successes are adding up helping with so many medical problems we experience as human beings including healing of injuries such as joint injuries, to plastic surgery, to the regeneration of various tissues in illness treatment. http://www.cihr-irsc.gc.ca/e/15255.html
The legislation is catching up to the demand. Sooner or later, the excessive costs will come down provided the stem cell therapy is not crushed by BIG PHARMA. Stem cell treatments offer so much hope and potential. Now people just need to learn about where they can find the treatment. I know that clinics are popping up everywhere in Canada and the USA. If you or someone you know is facing a knee replacement or joint surgery please advise them this noninvasive option exists.
Very interesting, hope this technology could cure many disease.
It is amazing... watch the series and you will be as excited as I am!
